Hey #bloomscrolling have a nice weekend 🌺
Close-up photo of a plant with small five-petaled purple star-shaped flowers and unopened green buds along an upright spike, surrounded by thick, oval, dark green succulent-like leaves, with a blurred sandy and blue-sky background.

So I've dropped down from Pro to Plus to get the average #openai Astra coding experience. Good news: you can always use your phone to tell it to go ahead after it gets interrupted by the 5h limit. Bad news: you can blow through two 5h limits with a single prompt, no fast mode, GPT 6 High.
Screenshot of a Codex (ChatGPT) coding agent session showing a scrollable log of executed commands, including several 'tail', 'python3', 'jq', 'mkdir', and 'command -v ruff' entries with their run times. Below the log, an orange usage-limit notice reads: 'You've hit your usage limit. Upgrade to Pro (https://chatgpt.com/explore/pro), visit https://chatgpt.com/codex/settings/usage to purchase more credits or try again at 6:05 PM.' A downward arrow icon and a footer showing '2 files +337 −15' (added/removed lines) appear at the bottom.

Zooming in on the latest DeepSWE lines: deepswe.datacurve.ai Gemini is now winning on cost but dramatically losing on number of agent steps, which doesn't sound so good for coding. Also this benchmark is getting saturated. SlopCodeBench when? #gemini #google #apple #aiagents

Turns out that before we enter the bunker in some post-apocalypse we preemptively bunker ourselves in our minds. We "this is fine" inside our preferred reality distortion field.

A screenshot of a chat interface displaying an AI interaction with a model named Fable 5. The user query, 'how many r's in strawberry?', triggered a system response stating that 'Fable 5's safety measures flagged this message for cybersecurity.' Below this, a tip suggests configuring model switch behavior in '/config,' and a status line notes the task 'Worked for 9s'."

Good morning #WWDC

A variation of the classic xkcd showing a towering, precarious stack of abstract blocks and components labeled “All Modern Digital Infrastructure.” The entire massive structure balances on a single thin support at its base, which is labeled “rsync.” To the lower right, a small catapult labeled “AI” is aimed at the structure, with a dashed line indicating its trajectory toward the rsync support. A label reads “claude authored,” with an arrow pointing to a small round projectile the catapult has launched.

This is is still the state of text input in #iOS pre 2026 #WWDC Weak keyboard, weak dictation and no way for third-party developers to meaningfully improve any of this. These are fundamentals that trip you over on the way to #ai hype fulfilment.

A six-panel comic strip featuring King Bumi and Aang from Avatar: The Last Airbender edited to discuss web browsers.
Panel 1: King Bumi explains to Aang that there are different options for web browsers that change how you experience the internet.
Panel 2: Aang holds up two fingers with the Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge logos above them, calling them Rainbow Chrome for Google Spyware and Blue Chrome for Microsoft Spyware.
Panel 3: A close-up of a grinning Bumi with the Firefox logo next to him, captioned, And Firefox, for spyware you can disable!
Panel 4: A shocked Aang, now seeing three logos, asks, There are three browsers!?
Panel 5: A weary-looking Bumi is surrounded by dozens of browser icons including Safari, Opera, Brave, Vivaldi, and Internet Explorer and says, Well, technically, there are 85.
Panel 6: Bumi returns to a calm smile next to the Firefox logo, concluding, But let's just focus on the third.

This sequence of prompts is the reason why people think we don't need world models if we already have language models. Just add another AI on top, bro. Just one more, plz bro.
A screenshot of a conversation with an AI model (identified as ChatGPT 5.2 Thinking).
The user asks: "The car wash is only 50m from my house. I want to get my car washed. Should i walk or drive there?"
The AI responds with "Walk." It explains that at 50 meters, driving is a hassle involving cold-start wear and emissions for zero benefit. It lists exceptions for driving, such as heavy rain, carrying heavy cleaning supplies, or specific car wash queue requirements. It concludes by suggesting the user just grab their keys and stroll over.
A screenshot of a mobile application titled "AI Logic Fail: Car Wash Errand," which highlights a humorous reasoning error made by an AI.
The image content includes:
 * The Prompt: A user asks if they should walk or drive to a car wash located only 50m from their house.
 * The AI's Answer: The AI gives a definitive command to "Walk".
 * The Reasoning: The AI argues that walking is superior to avoid the hassle of maneuvering, engine wear, and environmental impact. It only suggests driving for external factors like rain or heavy supplies, completely failing to realize that the car itself must be present to be washed.

A screenshot of a mobile interface displaying a sponsored message from "Harvest Groceries" featuring an orange shopping bag icon. The text reads, "These options may help if you’re stocking up on ingredients." Below is a product card for "Ember Co. Hot Sauce" accompanied by a thumbnail image of a hot sauce bottle. The card details state: "In stock • $5.99" and "25-35 minutes." At the bottom of the screen is a text input bar with a plus sign, a microphone icon, and a headphone icon, containing the placeholder text "Ask ChatGPT."

A lot of people have a considerable artistic vision but a limited ability to make a picture. A lot of people have neither. But everyone now has access to the same tools. It's a new era of exploring how bad something average can look like.
