If you have been waiting till the last minute then signs are pointing to that it is soon approaching and it may be here already. Some areas in the US can't even connect to the site.

Just seeing your message. I know you already got the answer to this but for anyone else watching. The Archivr uses a generic account which can only access public posts. If you enter your username & password, then the program can login as you and access whatever member-only posts you can access.

Thank you for your question. We will contact you directly about this. We also will provide an update soon to everyone using the app. You should be able to contact us directly if you purchased the app. Everyone on Bluesky doesn't necessarily need the answer to this question. 😊

A place to leave your kudos re: archiving. The experience of having something archived b4 it was gone or the relief of learning it was archived b4 it was gone. The appreciation for those who create the technology that should have existed to archive our stuff. My kudos go to @morgandawn.bsky.social

End of New Year's Day - Archived 3 Journals & 1 Kink Meme with 52K+ comments. Still looking for a strategy for *Memories* posts. Despite some obvious setbacks it's fitting that the 1st day of the year involved Archiving. It's a passion of mine & today is a great reminder. Looking forward 2 tomorrow.

Looking into the "Memories" page and I hate infinite scroll. My script uses the Calendar to create an inventory of posts and then uses that list to back up each post. Looking for something similar for memories. Keeping you posted. I should come up with a solution.

Running my first archive of a journal backup of 2026 that has 6 posts but approximately 52,672 comments received. The "machine" is working its way through each and every one of them.

The version that generated the error message above was from a 2024 version of the software. That's how long it's been. I just uploaded the 2026 version tested it myself revved the engines and it's working just fine. I'll do the archiving service free of charge. If you want to tip that's up to you.

If you like to tinker, like DIY projects, have Microsoft Excel, don't mind installing Selenium (already know what that is) & don't mind updating its latest Chrome Driver then after you purchase you can get it up & running yourself and archive lots of public communities. If you need help contact me.

ViddersAdmin @viddersadmin.bsky.social · 02/01/2026

I will take requests from the latter because that will be the best for both of us. I will perform this as a service because I already have the LJ Archivr Journal Machine working like Fury Road Semi. I would rev the engines if I could. I will update the "contact us" form on the site to take requests.

Ok, here is what I've learned. There are people who are archivers and techy who would love to use this for multiple journals. Then there are people who just want 1 or 2 journals archived and don't want to install nothing. Installing stuff & issues might piss them off.

120

ViddersAdmin @viddersadmin.bsky.social · 01/01/2026

I saw this & just emailed you. Worse comes to worse I can archive what you want archived & send you a link to it. Also, for anyone else, I just learned about this LJ stuff this morning so yes it will take a minute update things for 2026 because it's been a min since there's been any interest 4 this.

I didn't know what *Memories* were. I took a quick look on LJ to learn more, and it looks like that should not be too difficult to do. If you would like me to use your situation as a test case I would be happy to give it a shot.

@arcadianmaggie.bsky.social has been a blessing to this project. She has beta tested this for several years because while I like to develop software, she had actual use for it and told me what I need to fix to make it user friendly for people in fandom. This tool would not be possible without her.

Okay, I will preface this with the GIGANTIC disclaimer that I promise I know how this looks, and I *swear* this is not personally motivated: If you have an old #LiveJournal account, and it has things you still care about in it, download it or import it to Dreamwidth SOON. Details:

It even archives kink memes & their thousands of comments. You can bulk archive several communities like Costco. It will run overnight. It's a workhorse. It's just $20. It's been developed over several years to be reliable. It saves content separate from the theme & puts it in a generic theme.

You know why Finland housed their homeless? Because it's cheaper - saving Finland about $14K per person per year in crime, addiction, mental health, and emergency housing services. In Canada/UK/US, we mostly rely on raising police budgets instead & still watch those problems rising exponentially.

Quebec City Mayor Bruno Marchand has suggested that the solution to the crisis may be a Finnish model, which is a 'housing first' approach that aims to give everyone a home.

I always marvel at how I think more about "going to work" than "going to die" I imagine death chuckling at themselves when people refer to leaving work as going on a "permanent vacation."🤣They must think "You can always get another job & vacations end. You have no idea what a permanent vacation is."

The 2nd most intellectually sexy thing is when the speaker notices that level of listening & returns the favor. This kind of listening chivalry is so rare these days. The first is true listening and the second is listening to the listening. When it happens it's like two aliens recognizing each other

ViddersAdmin @viddersadmin.bsky.social · 02/12/2023

The most intellectually sexy thing is when someone hears you haven't quite finished your thought cause they're listening so intently even at pre words. Just before you're about to give up on finishing that thought they say "no, go ahead." Alternate realities are created because of their generosity.💖

For a lot of us, losing Twitter isn’t really about losing ties to the company itself. It’s losing 10+ years of real, asynchronous communities, professional development, the ability to get gigs and clients, the ability to promo/share your art on an extremely broad scale. The loss of that has impact.

I can never remember a movie moment where one man says to another: "You are The One, . . . You see, you may have spent the last few years looking for me, but I’ve spent my entire life looking for you. Now do you still want to meet?" especially across racial "lines".
