Every once in a blue moon I get a notification and am reminded Bluesky still exists. I primarily open Threads, Instagram, and YouTube for socials these days. Maybe I'll try more here again.

I'll look into each. There was a reason Kinect wasn't on there (think it was still alive or renamed again or something)

Coming very soon. I honestly didn't expect my content to take off same year I built it, but happy to be wrong 😅

Today is yet another bad day for the technology and gaming industries. My thoughts and prayers for all those impacted by layoffs.

Let's talk about options! Two great options: 1. The options pattern in .NET. Type safety, separation of concerns, and an extension library makes life easier. 2. The options to read about it! I'm blogging on my own .com, the EDJE blog, Medium, and devto! victorfrye.com/blog/posts/d...

Xbox first party really showed up for me. Clockwork Revolution, Keeper, and The Outer Worlds 2 each looked amazing. Honestly the TOW2 Direct was so funny and joyful, I loved it.

Okay. Nextjs is really cool. Why are more people not using it? Havent had one issue with vendor lock-in. Comfortably deploying to Azure SWAs.

Wrote my first blog post today. Unpublished as I want to edit it and get some feedback. Also started rewriting some conf abstracts for final wave of CFPs this year. Contentful weekend so far.

We have the answer! #GTA6 will be coming May 26, 2026. Yes, 2026, not 2025. Excited to see all the bets collected on today. And looking forward to other games finally knowing when they can release this fall through next spring.

Screen capture of Rockstar Games post about Grand Theft Auto VI. It reads as follows:

Grand Theft Auto VI is Now Coming May 26, 2026
May 2, 2025
Hi everyone,

Grand Theft Auto VI is now set to release on May 26, 2026.

We are very sorry that this is later than you expected. The interest and excitement surrounding a new Grand Theft Auto has been truly humbling for our entire team. We want to thank you for your support and your patience as we work to finish the game.

With every game we have released, the goal has always been to try and exceed your expectations, and Grand Theft Auto VI is no exception. We hope you understand that we need this extra time to deliver at the level of quality you expect and deserve.

We look forward to sharing more information with you soon.

Sincerely,
Rockstar Games

That won't last long, but it is really funny that it's happened

Victor Frye @victorfrye.com · 24/04/2025

Nailed it. There's overhype and ethics concerns, but the people treating AI like blockchain or even 3D are also deluding themselves. It's a classic "reality is somewhere in the middle" and seeing adoption for its value. Just not sci-fi style AI that's advertised.

Sooo.... Did anyone secure a Switch 2 pre-order?

010

Victor Frye @victorfrye.com · 22/04/2025

I'm just so curious what the rest of 2025 must look like, because it seems sparser right now... but I'm starting to believe they might keep this up.
