CBC News : U.S.-China summit highlights the 'hypocrisy' of American trade policy, experts say Washington pursues deals with China while criticizing Canada for doing the same www.cbc.ca/news/busines...

ANALYSIS | Trump loves Chinese trade — as long as it's with the U.S. | CBC News

American officials have scolded Canada for making a deal with China. But the numbers show the U.S. does vastly more business with China than Canada would possibly dream of.

Lake Erie also pre dates both countries. Do they not have anything better to do, like tackle affordability or something?

FFS! Of course they’re running a deficit. How the hell are you supposed to get an accurate ridership number when 3 out of 4 people hopping on the bus don’t pay a damn thing?! But hey, no worries. Let’s just keep writing them cheques. 🤷‍♂️ Because apparently accountability and basic math are optional.

And now you’re about to learn the difference between a Canada that’s polite, and a Canada that’s had enough. 🇨🇦

We had a concerning situation in our neighbourhood Monday night that scared my son a little. Yesterday, Cst. Watson from @ottawapolice.bsky.social stopped by to check on him and make sure he was okay. My wife and I are incredibly grateful that he took the time to show some kindness and support.

Won't do much for service and delays if CN continues to force slowdown on the tracks

I don't think we were apologizing. But the neighbourly thing to do would be to send firefighters and planes to like.. oh.. I dunno.. help? Like we do for them? No? Too much to ask? 😒

End of September? Really @mark-sutcliffe.bsky.social ? Couldn't be bothered to offer this on a useful weekend in the summer when it's nice out?

Vicky @vickyp83.bsky.social · 23/05/2026

Lower ridership? It's not lower....people aren't paying fares Routes like the 12 are jammed packed at nearly all hours. And because it's not enforced, no risk of getting caught, so let's save the 4$ a ride, and ride for freeeeeeeee

012

Vicky @vickyp83.bsky.social · 18/05/2026

Well now I feel old. I just realized my age before I was born, WW2 was in full swing for those who joined in 1939/40

050

Vicky @vickyp83.bsky.social · 17/05/2026

But sure, let us focus on the customer experience.... Mind you if there no trains, there are no customers, so nothing to worry about. Money saved!

000

Vicky @vickyp83.bsky.social · 13/05/2026

From ppl who dont take transit most likely. Cause guaranteed transit employees drive to work. But yeah, lets make the SC more visible, rather than fare enforcement officers. All 12 of them riding the train.

010

Vicky @vickyp83.bsky.social · 13/05/2026

Hiring mechanics, hosting townhall, launching a SC community team, new advertising- beside the fact that they are hiring -... all free? No.... it's with our fare money that some decide they don't need to pay. So let's raise the rates... again.

000

Vicky @vickyp83.bsky.social · 13/05/2026

Right. So let's improve the customer experience for those who dont pay their fares, all the whilst raising the fares for those of us who do. I mean it makes complete sense.

100

Vicky @vickyp83.bsky.social · 12/05/2026

What about fare enforcement? Beyond the 12 enforcement officers for the entire city, would that not also improve revenues? Enforcement beyond the train, like on the 12, which regularly has fare jumpers. In 20 years, I've seen fare enforcement on that route max 3 times. Plenty on the train tho !

So companies, in industries like gas, groceries, airlines, want to claim they are under hard time? While my grocery, gas, hydro bills have nearly doubled, to cover these "difficult times"...my pay cheque has not..this corporate math doesn't math
