yawning causes the tensor tympani muscle to contract, which pulls on the eardrum and dampens sound vibrations. this natural noise cancelling makes it so that when you yawn while wearing noise cancelling headphones, it cancels the noise cancelling headphones too 😂

TIL hummingbirds have special feathers with layers of hollow, air-filled structures called melanosomes. As light hits the top layer of the barbule, it refracts through a thin layer of transparent keratin and hits the top layer of melanosomes, cresting iridescence similar to soap bubbles!

💡 Why did a designer write a book about decision-making? Because I noticed that many of us lack a clear understanding of how to choose in a way that that genuinely aligns with what we want. By "redesigning" cognitive biases, I reframe how they can help us make more intentional, self-aware choices.

Made a prototype of a little display bookshelf to celebrate the prototype of my book arriving! 📘 I love how simple it is. The thin lips are cut from the plywood back, giving some of itself so it can support its own purpose ☀️
