Nod @viciously.bsky.social · 04/10/2026Shabana Mahmood telling us she’s happy to continue arresting the nation’s grandparents, meanwhile The Green Party membership votes for a dysfunctional policy about an ideology. Politics continues to be a weak shitshow. Glad to be out of it. Happy to shortly resume silence. 000
Nod @viciously.bsky.social · 04/10/2026I wouldn’t have voted for it even with the amendment but it’s up to them to determine the direction of their party and I think that should be collective, not hierarchical. 100
Nod @viciously.bsky.social · 04/10/2026I think the failure is in the discussion of that motion but it’s okay if you think parties should be more of a top down hierarchy. We just differ on that. 100
Nod @viciously.bsky.social · 04/10/2026I was in the Labour Party for over a decade. I am talking about the lack of democracy in the motions process. 000
Reposted by NodAndrew Fisher @fisherandrew79.bsky.social · 04/10/2026Having seen lots of commentary on it, I've finally read the 'Zionism is Racism' motion before Green Party conference. Its main flaws: 1) Badly written 2) Conflates zionism with Israeli Government actions (about as logical as conflating socialism with the USSR) 3) Defines a contested term singularly 310928
Nod @viciously.bsky.social · 04/10/2026Yep, I agree, I just think it should be shut down with dialogue after being proposed. 210
Nod @viciously.bsky.social · 04/10/2026No, I think we should respond to people’s lived experience and apply nuance and compassion to difficult issues. We should treat voting seriously and we should consider and throw out bad suggestions. 300
Nod @viciously.bsky.social · 04/10/2026Yes, the second half of the motion was fine. It’s a shame they didn’t just put that up for a vote. 000
Nod @viciously.bsky.social · 04/10/2026It’s a troubled ideology but it doesn’t lead everyone to the same behaviour or brutality. 000
Nod @viciously.bsky.social · 04/10/2026The motion was proposed by a British-Palestinian person. It’s a bad motion, it would make bad policy but shutting their experience down is also highly damaging. The Greens can decide what they want for their party. 200
Nod @viciously.bsky.social · 04/10/2026I’m not a member of the Green Party and I’m not defending it, I’m just stating fact. You’re telling me you don’t want members to have control. Join Labour instead, that’s how it’s run. 400
Nod @viciously.bsky.social · 04/10/2026It’s not an excuse, it’s just real. If you want democracy you will have motions that are bad. If you don’t have motions that are bad the party will be less democratic. 100
Nod @viciously.bsky.social · 04/10/2026I don’t think it is damaging unless they pass it. All parties have problems, Reform beat protestors on the conference floor, Labour is a much bigger party and has no internal democracy, the Tories only let rich people into their conference. 🤷♀️ 210

Nod @viciously.bsky.social · 21/09/2026There will only be outrage if the schools enact harmful policies. I’m going to cross my fingers here as I write- maybe the schools are finding good solutions that protect the students and the parents are keeping that quiet because I certainly would strongly support that at my kids school. 100
