I'll never not find it incredible that (esp. the U.S.) we get that people need ≈13 years of schooling to be ready for the world but put zero time into teaching healthy intrapersonal relationships, sexuality & communication & then when problems arise go 'The only solution is banning risqué media'😔 🧵

It really is that damn phone. Gen z adults should stop spending all their time in online fandom spaces full of teens. If you're unable to unplug, at least surround yourself with sane adults online who are mature enough to have emotional regulation skills. My god this phenomenon is truly pathetic

Yeah, I'm not sure how long you've followed me but I have a couple of published (peer reviewed) articles that go in-depth into this phenomenon if you weren't aware of them. It may help clear up even more! :> links to view/request linktr.ee/samaburime

Dynasty warriors Ori is still so fkg expensive........ man 💔 I'm not gonna blow my paycheck on that

vic🍉 @vicare.bsky.social · 03/05/2025

I just finished watching the dynasty warriors movie on netflix... The movie was okay but it made me wanna play the new DW game so bad!! Also towards the end I realised that the app automatically set the audio as cantonese instead of mandarin. The whole time I was like "This dubbing sounds so weird"

Any other. And if a fan tries to act like they're better than the rest of us just because their fic or art or meta got popular, you should run for the hills because thats just 🚩all over. We are all equal in fandom so. Just remember that author or artist you look up to is just another fan

Late night/early morning musings but: I've always been very uncomfortable with the fandom penchant for treating popular fancreators as celebrities. bnf culture is, at it's heart, incongruous with fandom despite fandom being what created them in the first place. No fan is any better or any less 1/

The best part of fandom is not being part of it ❤️ Just your close circle of friends who decided to be as obsessed as you are It's seriously the best way to retain your sanity as a fan and as a creator.

Also I’ve had the pleasure of making so many fandom friends who aren’t “popular artists” or writers or even creators at all! Sometimes you click with people and sometimes you don’t, and when you do those relationships take effort to build and maintain.

This is the person Kyle A. Carozza (An industry man recently arrested & outed as a child predator & sex pest) harassed & got blacklisted using his connections from the animation industry 6+ years ago. OP hasn't had financial or medical stability since, & are trying to get back on their feet:

'Popular' east asian artists had a point where they dropped renaissance level art and just logged off. I think it's currently more sustainable for fandom artists online (who don't make a living off of their art/community) to just drop art and ignore fandom as a whole. Post art + log off quickly

I've been ultra focusing on my career and support system (friends & family ❤️) these past few months. With this huge distance I've put between myself and online fandom, I've been contemplating about my past odd years as an 'online fandom artist' and the identity I've built around my online persona.

This site exemplifies the core community problem seen in Cohost but at a much larger scale: it exists as an attempt to create a better, "more inclusive" social media environment, but instead of prioritizing marginalized groups it caters chiefly to sensitive liberals who prefer their bigotry implicit

🏎️🏁 F1 AU ✧【 #art, #beyondevil, #jwds, #괴물 】

Alt: Rendered sketches of the two main leads of Beyond Evil in a Formula 1 setting. The left sketch shows Joowon dismissing rumours of him having a romantic relationship with his rival, Lee Dongsik in an interview. The right sketch shows Joowon complaining to Dongsik that another driver almost costed him his win after almost crashing into him. Dongsik laughs it off, saying that Joowon almost crashed into him during the last race too.

My beyond evil mutuals are on average all over 25 years old, some have full time teaching jobs or corporate jobs, some are new moms. These are the best kind of people in fandom, ones that I surround myself with. I'm glad beyond evil generally attracts a mature fanbase at least 😭

vic🍉 @vicare.bsky.social · 07/02/2025

because tell me why multiple accounts who have 'if you are proship you will be hunted for sport' interacted w/ my post...? I'm locking the hell out of that post and start chain blocking man 😂 these are the absolute worst kind of people

Ah well. I think it's more fun to talk about fandom stuff over at tumblr because people are more engaged there + there's no limitation for me to write longform stuff. I truly expect this would be a 'serious art account', nevermind. You'll instead get posts of me waffling about Australia + sketches😂
