We should have gone harder for the giallo actresses. One of them could have time traveled.

They also did a space opera set and then immediately after announced a Star Trek one, which really made the original set feel like a test balloon

"Slide" not being in the toy hall of fame already is so funny. I think it should never get in. Like Kubrick never winning Best Director.

The thing about hiring a paramilitary force of exclusively undateable men is that eventually you have to tell them or risk significant casualties to comely barmaids with shanks in their skirts.

There's a special kind of diseased mind who fills their days thinking a compelling epilogue to Calvin and Hobbes is Calvin ending up with a child whose imagination is identical to his in every way

I would rather admit to rampant bribery and corruption than say I swing conservative because I'm afraid they wont be my friends. I feel like this piece was supposed to humanize Kavanaugh, but it actually stains every single one of his rulings with the most pathetic possible conflict of interest.

My favorite thing about Shannon Hospital is that, femdom freak though she may be, her subs are reliably even freakier in ways she does not anticipate. She's a siren staring at her phone while sailors dash and drown on her rocks whether she's singing or not.

The fact that this is a film about the entire american population being forcibly tattooed by a Christian extremist government and is ultimately about the central couple deciding that its a pretty good idea instead of leading a violent uprising is pretty telling of the Current Age

Its crazy they're playing this with an Origin Story angle when 1) a whole ghost already exists in the narrative to provide that 2) Depp is the oldest on-film scrooge i can remember

I love how any character who meets Noel, no matter how polite or deferential at first, ends up being rude to him the same kind of way. It's the perfect way of letting you know that it's something wrong with him and him alone.
Noel: what's wrong with Noel?

Minerva: Is a name of legend. The name of thr promised king of heaven, earth, & sea(About a dozen strips later)
Noel: why is he doing that?
Minerva: doth my king think me psychic?

When you're making a decision about your kid, the way you talk to them or how you treat them, if you suddenly think "I'm doing something wrong", you gotta stop right there and change what you're doing. And you gotta tell your kid you're doing it. Too many parents are too embarrassed to apologize

I've watched enough good movies with weak screenplays and seen enough bad art made by artists I love that I'm now in a place where I forgive a lot in terms of quality if I feel like the cohesive whole of the artist is developing and I think Perkins got himself to a really interesting place.

To Audiences yeah but Horror Guys aren't Audiences. Audiences don't post online if they personally weren't shaken to the core by a horror movie but Horror Guys will. They like it more than they like horror movies.

It was marketed as the scariest thing ever but Oz Perkins doesnt make Scariest Things Ever he makes weird little fables and I really like those weird little fables and I think horror doesnt have to be scary, necessarily, I think weird little fables is just fine.

Seven years later that musician's stage show is getting a criterion release, I have learned to cook and better appreciate that food, and my toddler recognizes Chris and Carly's characters by name when I wear my Rude Tales t-shirt. Everything ends. But not really. Looking forward to what's next.

September 28 of 2019 I saw my favorite musician perform onstage for the first time, ate my favorite food for the first time, and listened to the first episode of my new favorite podcast. All in the same night. And I listened to that podcast because I followed Chris Hastings.
