This is the only way forward. We can't let our cynicism win. It's true that United States had/has many problems but we can only move forward with optimism and reform. Cyncism is what Trump wants...for us to think everything is broken and nothing can change. We can't let him win.

I’m crying
Reasonable Democrats are going to have to get off their couches, roll up their sleeves and start organizing real voters on the ground.

We can no longer rely only on TV ads, digital spend and endorsements. Just donating from afar and complaining about the DSA won’t cut it.

The DSA (Democratic Socialists of America) can beat moderates in a growing number of blue strongholds. Why? Because the DSA has patiently built an army of on-the-ground organizers — who go to meetings, help each other, study together and THEN work to turn out voters on Election Day. That army grows every day — election or no election. Their investment in real people grows (and compounds) with each election cycle. The DSA has a bigger army, every time, win or lose.

But at the end of any election, all moderate Dems have for their efforts is a bunch of ads that nobody will ever see again. That’s not going to work anymore.

If you are a Democrat who believes in opportunity, dignity and democracy for all — but you don’t hate rich people, cops, free enterprise, the West, Israel and the United States of America — I’m talking to you!

Obviously completely terrible and anti-democratic but this could also backfire hardcore on core MAGA voters. If city/suburban voters had to, they could easily vote in person. But rural voters? Drive 40-50 miles just to vote when gas is $4+ a gallon?

This kind of thing is so infuriating. Corporations legally stole $40 billion from US taxpayers. That's not insignificant. FAA budget is $20 billion, $4.5 billion went to PEPFAR the program that helps prevent the spread of HIV. $35 billion is the entire Pell Grant program. So the rich can get richer.

This guy is maybe somewhat forgivable because he's only 19 but how on earth was Kamala "the lesser of two evils." And if you "understand economic policy," and know tariffs are bad economic policy, why would you vote for the guy who campaigned on sweeping increased tariffs?

1/I'm really hoping all this anti-mail in ballot stuff from Trump really bites the GOP in the ass these midterms. Mail-in ballots benefit rural, GOP voters more than anyone.

Black text on white background
“Happy Easter, New York!

Today, millions of New Yorkers celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ and the victory of hope over despair and faith over fear.
As the air warms and cherry blossoms begin to bloom, this holy day is a sacred time to pause and reflect on a season of rebirth.
Whether you spend this day singing in pews, parading on Fifth Avenue, joining a processional guided by the bamboo trumpets of Haitian Rara music, or hunting for painted eggs amidst the spring grass, I wish every New Yorker celebrating a joyous day.

Let us all embrace this holiday's spirit of hope and renewal as we build the City — and the world — that we deserve.”

This is really how the Epstein class thinks of Americans out of the top 1%. All these titans of AI who think they can replace jobs without consequence. But they forget simple supply and demand and the US economy has always been dependent on US consumers.

The SC handed Trump/GOP a political victory. They could have winded down the tariffs and voters would have seen lower inflation and taxes. But no, they just had to F it up with the Iran war and now inflation is roaring back with an unpopular war to boot.

Let's not be too paranoid about this Supreme Court case. Yes it's bad in general for voting rights but mail-in voting is used a lot by conservative, rural voters and changes in postmark rules effect those voters more. Another "win" that will blow up in the face of the GOP.

What's annoying about the Dem cave is it does/did look like there were enough Rs (MTG and a few swing-district Rs) to pass an ACA extension in the House and in the context of the shutdown, maybe a few moderate Rs could be swayed with some slight changes. But now there's really no incentive....

If you're like me, a person with a job who gets their health insurance through Obamacare, you really got screwed today. The Trump tax cuts are skewed to the rich. Most middle class folks only save maybe $100-$400 annually on taxes. Meanwhile, Biden's ACA subsidies provided $700+ to premiums.
