Gil: started as a joke character, still kind of is. Rather then having an angel and devil on his shoulders he has two devils that don’t agree. Was meant to be a clueless moron who I simply enjoyed drawing. Now I’m not sure what he is or how to use him in the story. I’ll probably slap him with the other shapeshifters. He was a character semi shapeshifted into an animal wears a mask because his face didn’t end up a good mix.

@tasvr.bsky.social one thing I liked doing with character sketches was to add thicker outlines or extra bits around the character. Always mad designs pop a little more on a blank sheet of paper. You should play with the idea. Also try adding shadows under characters for full body sketches.

This is a drawing I did years ago. For this design i added tome extra pattern around his upper body, mostly testing the idea. I think it made the design stand out a bit more as a result. This Character is a partial clone of another guy. Half shapeshifter into some type of animal. Wears a mask due to his face not being a good blend of human/ animal. Meant to be a more quirky character. Originally design him with a few other characters to be part of a band.

Holy cow how time flies. My new job has me working 12-13 hour shifts & working about 4-5 shifts a week. when I’m off work I’m usually pretty wiped. Who knew making paper was so hard. Though all this overtime has my weekly pay doubled from my last job. Soon I’ll have new art supplies.

Drew out the main characters of my story once in a simple style to know who was important. Then went and rewrote the whole story making this no longer relevant. Need to draw an updated sheet… sheets. Pretty sure I’ve at least tripled the amount of relevant characters. #oc #art #sketch #design

The thing keeping me from turning my art into a career is debt. That & a lack of demand. I have had at least 5 people threaten to beat me after I told them my book idea. I started telling them all my ideas and they acted like I spoiled some movie to them. Long lost designs. #art #oc #sketch #design

I think this was my first design for Klendawn Dalgon. First drawing I must have done when I was 13-14. That other drawing was pretty recent if I recall. Been busy moving to a new job & state. Should have time to draw out more designs over this next week. #oc #design #sketch #art

He came to me in A dream when I was 12. Same dream as echo Dalgon if I recall. (They are not related)
Plus I’m the dream he was wearing a baseball cap and a hoodie. He’ll didn’t even come up with the name till 5 years later.

I’ve wanted to make a comic, or at least a novel with good artwork for years. However I hate my own skill with art. It’s never where I want it to be. Then I find out the artist I compared myself to had teams helping them. Comic/ manga artist. I hate how his hands turned out. It’s while I hid them.

I will admit I used an AI picture creator & based a character design off of 1 one picture. I modified the hell out of it I was in a block. Out of these 4 only 1 was based from an AI sketch. I’m not big into AI & I don’t think it can replace real effort. Won’t use it again. #art #sketch #design #oc

This was me playing with pens and drawing smoke mostly.

This was the picture I based from the AI picture. Almost everything from the original picture was changed. What I kept was the antlers & the shape of the headband on the second guy.
AI felt like a gimmick. I got as much out of it as looking at others art for reference. Probably because AI just mix & matches others art into a weird dream like way to make something different. I don’t much care for it. Though it did give me the idea to design these guys. No idea if I’m even going to use them.

This is a redesign of a character trying out different influences. I’ve posted him before.
