potential rage-bait for the Bsky audience, but: I am conducting an experiment using Claude. I designed it in a way where instead of using the AI tool to assist me, I made it lead, while I am only the support technician lol.

Shout-out to all the engineers whose countries (of origin or residence) are being bombed at the moment, and still showed up for work and did their freaking best this week ❤️‍🩹 We got this ✨

I understand that, by being geographically so far removed, your perception of current affairs is based on abstractions, black & white takes, and limited education & media you have access to. Half of the population of GCC countries are expats of dozens of countries that have nothing to do with this.

Procrastination level: Google Maps says it’s a 2-minute walk to the donut I’ve been craving all day. My brain: "hmm, no, why don't we rewatch Gilbert Strang's linear algebra lectures on YouTube for the nth time instead ?" 😂

Start small. Do what you CAN. Everybody wants to change the world, but gets paralyzed in the face of everyday acts of common injustice. Your small action can represent a big change in someone else's life. We did not reach this point overnight. Start small. Do what you can 🤍

B: would you volunteer to go to Mars (and never come back)? Me: years ago, I would have said yes, but not anymore. B: oh, why did you change your mind? Me: have you seen the type of people who want to go to Mars? Being stuck with them in another planet? Absolutely not 🙅🏽‍♀️

my sister (who has a kid) and I often joke about the way society diminishes women's accomplishments when they opt out of motherhood. - got a promotion? "she has extra time for work!" - have a stable relationship? "hehe... wait 'till you have kids" - exhausted? "hah! try saying that to a mother"

Veronica. @veronicalg.bsky.social · 29/12/2025

1. Woman requests org to delete awful picture of her. 2. Org uses said picture for promotional material. Great stuff. The price I pay for being a little shit complaining about things here & there 😂

having a birthday in mid-December is weird in that I usually take a couple of days off to celebrate, and then I come back "recharged", and ready to work, but everyone else is already in holiday mentality lol. Should I still send that intro email? Are we still ploughing through OKRs? I must know.

110

Veronica. @veronicalg.bsky.social · 09/11/2025

I often think about how men can be perceived as "going out of their way" to be helpful while the same behaviour in women is not perceived as extraordinary because it is expected in the social norm that women act as natural communicators and connectors who listen and help, mothers or not :)
