A screenshot from a newsletter reads, in part: "Last week, we published an investigation identifying a pattern of delays, flawed reviews, and conflicts of interest within the Cook County conviction integrity unit. ... But the people most affected by this issue are those who have contacted the Cook County CIU and are still incarcerated. We want to reach these readers, and we need your help. Your donation will help us print the story and locate incarcerated people who were rejected or left waiting by the CIU — many of whom have been transferred to different prisons since they first wrote to the unit about their cases. Our hope is to mail a print copy of the investigation by the end of the month to everyone who has contacted the CIU and is still incarcerated. It will cost about $1.75 in printing and postage for each person we send the story to. Will you help us reach as many people as possible?
