In Bermuda for 5 weeks this summer, Professor Laura Haynes is working with students to collect and grow small plankton called foraminifera—or forams. Forams are a group of organisms that bridge together biology, geology, and chemistry: they also help to regulate carbon dioxide in the atmosphere.
