This is what it's all about for me. someone messaged me about New Roc on Instagram and we had a little conversation about it's heyday. New Rochelle isn't hard to reach from The Bronx without a car, and is definitely day-trip worthy. I'll have to make my way out there again soon.

A conversation I had with someone about "New Roc", a mall along the main Street of New Rochelle:

"memories of a time that no longer exists"

"That's what I hope to invoke!"

"What can you tell me about New
Rochelle?"

"back then it was revolutionary. for
families and school trips.
Everything you needed was there.
Billiards, bowling, arcade and one
of the first VR rides from the late
90s early 2000s. No matter the
age parents and children had
tons of fun."

"Especially if you were in the Bronx and
had a car, l'd imagine... When do you
think it started to fall off?"

"not too long ago. right before
covid it became cold less
families came. And during covid
when the rent increases and the
university took over there was
nothing left. So last 8 years
maybe less"
