It's October & Tube Talk is officially haunted! All week I'm reviving Tube Talk's spookiest stories: spirit phones, ghost-summoning books, a medium who beat a Victorian lie detector. The goal: 5 new paid Tube Talkers by 10/11. Witches flying 0/5. Join us! www.tubetalk.media/upgrade?offe...

Pan's Labyrinth turns 20 this month and a 4K version is heading back to theaters. I talked to Doug Jones and Ivana Baquero about their first scene together (which is also the movie's last), practical effects, and what makes the movie so resonant today. www.tubetalk.media/p/pans-labyr...

Ignore this 100-degree weather! I'm declaring it's fall. To kick the season off, I ranked five books I've read recently that happen to have "witch" in the title. enjoy! #books www.tubetalk.media/p/witch-book...

I had a news roundup at Tube Talk & the most clicked item was an "I love the '90s" website streaming old Supermarket Sweep episodes (& In Living Color, etc.) 24/7. If you'd like to watch old Supermarket Sweep episodes, check it out! (And subscribe to Tube Talk!) www.tubetalk.media/p/weird-news...

How did a sliced croquet ball change 20th-century retail? I get into it for Tube Talk. Yes, it involves pneumatic tubes. And yes, there mention of something fun salespeople got to do with their feet. The images I also found for this one are A+. Give it a read! www.tubetalk.media/p/pneumatic-...

I'm researching another pneumatic tube post for Tube Talk (coming to your inbox Sunday!) & found this photo from 1912 of a dude moving meat via a hanging basket. I think I love it? Look at this mustached man moving some 1912 meat. 😍 🥩 This is what gen AI is taking away from us.

a drawing of some 1912 dude wearing thick cloves and a jaunty mustache sliding a tray of hamhock meat into a hanging cart on wheels. I'm vegetarian, but all meat should be delivered this way.

I’ve been into space mirrors—satellites with reflective surfaces that turn night into day—for a while. The idea's around for over a century, and we can’t quit the technology. I get into projects people have tried to get off the ground. There are some characters! www.tubetalk.media/p/space-mirr...

G-g-g-g-hosts! Victorian style! The 1863 book Spectropia was meant to convince people ghosts aren't real. It sold well, but didn't really change minds. On Tube Talk, I explain how to create Spectropia's ghosts, & how it works. Read below! #ghosts #history www.tubetalk.media/p/spectropia...

That year I wanted Molly… the American Doll not the recreational drug. And also a BJ tape, which stood for Billy Joel (don’t judge). My list would be different this year…
