jayvik fic snippet: “You are going to take your clothes off and lay down,” Viktor informs him, dropping his voice to that low, mechanical burr that always makes Jayce shudder. “On your stomach. Then I will work your muscles until you are relaxed and able to sleep and be still. Do you understand?”

Jayce nods wordlessly, and Viktor turns to put the brace by the bedside table, giving Jayce some time to get ready. When he turns back around, Jayce is laid out on his stomach, his cheek propped against one arm as he glances back at him, quiet.

In this body, he can feel the Herald’s—his own—rumbling purr at the sight of Jayce laid out like this. His strong back, muscles flexing, the dimples above his waist, the ample curve of his ass. The finest offering for a god, he thinks, pleased.

“Good,” he tells Jayce, voice dipping low again just to see the way Jayce flexes the muscles in his shoulders. “Close your eyes.” He marvels again, as he always does, at how trusting Jayce is of him, especially in this form, as Jayce’s eyes obediently slide shut and he lets out a quiet exhale. Viktor flexes his hands, feels the secretion of the oil that helps his body move smoothly, and pushes an excess of it out through the joints of his knuckles, down his palm. The oil is already warm from the strange amalgamation of machinery and the arcane that keeps both this form and his human form alive.

The muscles in Jayce’s back twitch when Viktor places his hands down on his skin, running the oil along the curve of his spine. He makes a soft sound when Viktor touches the long, thick scar tissue slicing his back, the skin there still mottled faintly pink and green and purple from the eradicated arcane corruption that used to infect it. Viktor’s sensations in this form are slightly different than with skin–he can read the way Jayce’s pulse jumps, can feel his body heat, cooler than he used to be before everything happened to him. Sometimes Viktor marvels at the way they’ve swapped places in many ways–now Viktor is the one who runs machine hot, and Jayce is the one always shivering, always seeking out Viktor’s warmth. Viktor who doesn’t feel pain in his body, and Jayce who is always experiencing it on some level.

“This is paining you today,” Viktor murmurs, smoothing oil down the leathery scarred skin, and Jayce gives a tiny nod against the pillow he’s dragged under his head.

“Storm coming soon, I think,” he mumbles, muffled.

“Or perhaps it’s the constant running around you’ve been doing,” he chides, and he slides his hands up, pressing his thumbs to the sides of Jayce’s neck and smoothing them up and down, rhythmic and slow. Jayce gasps in shock, then lets out a low, deep groan, his head sinking deeper into the pillow.
