At the end of 2023 when I was recovering from nasal surgery, I was completely uninspired and feeling lost artistically. Read the first volume of Dara-san and read his postscript about recovering from a stroke and creating the best manga of the decade. Immediately inspired to draw my best comic yet.

Today would've been the sixty-fifth birthday of Yu-Gi-Oh! creator Kazuki Takahashi. It tends to get swallowed up in the enormous franchise it became, but I truly believe that his original manga can provide a valuable lesson to artists about process and work and improvement over time.
