Growing up, my dog sang along with music. We were a family of singers, so maybe he thought he was joining the pack howl, but it sure made practice challenging. 🎶 What do YOU want to know about dog behavior? 🐶 Take the ManyDogs survey to guide future studies! 📋 ssp.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_...

🦮 Attention dog owners! One of my trainees is examining the relationship between dogs and toys, and their owner’s thoughts about that relationship. Want to help?   If you have a few minutes, you can complete the survey here: queensu.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_...

Cognitive psych is often traced back to the 1950s. Psychology is often traced to Wundt's lab in 1879. Textbooks speak of "proto-psychologists" like Fechner & Helmholtz in the 1800s... Westerners all. Have you heard about Ibn al-Haytham, whose work predated them by 100s of years? 1/4

Such a cool twist on an old design: Roosters warn each other when a hawk is circling overhead. But when they’re alone and a predator is near, they stay silent to avoid attracting attention. Importantly, they don’t warn their own reflection. www.nytimes.com/2023/10/25/s...
