Yeah sounds like it, that's quite low for 6mg EEn unless it's on the very last day before your injection.

HRT for cis women's menopause was incredibly niche until a big education wave swept social media during the pandemic. It's still incredibly gatekept even though it's about as benign as Ibuprofen for them.

Most of the reasonable concerns are just the profit incentive hiding under a Scooby Doo mask too. "People might take medications they don't need" why would that be a problem if millions hadn't been spent marketing it to them? In Europe there's chronic underprescription for almost everything.

Until Hera gets confirmation on some of their theories about what happened our advice is this: There are no safety worries. If you have a batch from May then try to get a blood test ASAP. If the blood test suggests you're underdosed then you can simply double your dose until you finish that vial.

Hera should be posting a longer statement of their own very soon. They've given us a more insight into what exactly they're investigating and an independent expert we spoke to agrees this all seems like a straight forward honest mistake that presents no real risks besides possible underdosing.

Trans Harm Reduction's latest test set showed that at least one batch in May from Hera HRT was at half the advertised concentration. Hera have posted an update on their website indicating they're aware of it and looking into it.

Not that you need to justify why AI political writing is bad on this side of Bluesky, but Orwell wrote everything that needs said 80 years ago. These are long paragraphs with lots of em dashes though so maybe he used Claude too. bioinfo.uib.es/~joemiro/Rec...
The great enemy of clear language is insincerity. When there is a gap between one’s real and one’s declared aims, one turns as it were instinctively to long words and exhausted idioms, like a cuttlefish spurting out ink. In our age there is no such thing as “keeping out of politics.” All issues are political issues, and politics itself is a mass of lies, evasions, folly, hatred, and schizophrenia. When the general atmosphere is bad, language must suffer. I should expect to find —this is a guess which I have not sufficient knowledge to verify— that the German, Russian and Italian languages have all deteriorated in the last ten or fifteen years, as a result of dictatorship. But if thought corrupts language, language can also corrupt thought. A bad usage can spread by tradition and imitation even among people who should and do know better. The debased language that I have been discussing is in some ways very convenient. Phrases like a not unjustifiable assumption, leaves much to be desired, would serve no good purpose, a consideration which we should do well to bear in mind, are a continuous temptation, a packet of aspirins always at one’s elbow. Look back through this essay, and for certain you will find that I have again and again committed the very faults I am protesting against. By this morning’s post I have received a pamphlet dealing with conditions in Germany. The author tells me that he "felt impelled" to write it. I open it at random, and here is almost the first sentence I see: "[The Allies] have an opportunity not only of achieving a radical transformation of Germany’s social and political structure in such a way as to avoid a nationalistic reaction in Germany itself, but at the same time of laying the foundations of a co-operative and unified Europe." You see, he “feels impelled” to write —feels, presumably, that he has something new to say— and yet his words, like cavalry horses answering the bugle, group themselves automatically into the familiar dreary pattern. This invasion of one’s mind by ready-made phrases (lay the foundations, achieve a radical transformation) can only be prevented if one is constantly on guard against them, and every such phrase anaesthetizes a portion of one’s brain.

Not wild about that "Erin Reed uses AI" piece. It reads like someone with an unhealthy fixation asked Claude to help prove she uses AI, and then lightly reworded the output. There are a hundred issues more deserving of the time and word count than firing the starting gun on a prominent trans person.

This isn't to say things aren't bad, but for a marginalised community where poor mental health is rampant it's so so important that we accurately assess threats and focus our energy on the fights that matter.

Racism has always existed but this "we must defend our borders" stuff is a new phenomenon that's emerged within living memory. They invented it whole cloth in the mid 20th century, it has no precedent. We live in historically evil times, never let anyone gaslight you about that.

A universal imperative to save those in distress at sea exists across all of recorded history. "We must feed the homeless" was uncontroversial in Rome. The last century has seen massive social progress, but so much is just a contrast against the unprecedented barbery of the previous three.

One of the most striking things if you read some real history is that people in the distant past were not as brutal or selfish as you were taught. When these people complain about "woke policies" towards immigrants and the disabled, they're talking about social norms that predate most religions.

Just the most narcissistic malcontents civilisation has ever produced, perched atop a mountain of wealth and privilege, sneering down at anyone with the audacity to assert their most basic needs. History will not be kind to them.

It's incredible the extent to which modern society is helmed by absolute buffoons with no meaningful expertise on any topic. These people genuinely just sit around all day coming up with the dumbest worst opinions they can think of, and then get to inflict them on the rest of us for money.

We are at the break glass moment on the Democratic Party and its treatment of transgender people, and it is my opinion that if we don’t act now and loudly demand to be heard, we will suffer the consequences of their shift.

None are interested in setting minimum order quantities, but they'd desperately prefer that you buy 2-3 vials at a time instead of 1 vial at a time because again, that shipping is most of the work for them.

Valerie.vg @valerie.vg · 23/09/2026
We've had some casual conversations about this with most brewers over the last few days and there's two overwhelmingly common themes: 1. There's no mass panic buying of large order quatites. 2. Yeah, 1 vial is the most common order we get and we'd really appreciate it if that changed.

Hi! We've had multiple people from Norway lose their packages because they ordered to PO-boxes or kiosks in Sweden. We explicitly warn against doing this on our checkout page, as the only addresses we know to be reliably reachable are home addresses.

I mean the problem is these are all just transport layers, you need something to actually receive and present the messages to the user they already have and pay attention to, otherwise there's no point. You have to strike a balance between security and accessibility.

Valerie.vg @valerie.vg · 19/09/2026
yeeeeep that's why we're talking to some cybersecurity researchers before doing anything. If emails go away it would be because we'd run into some cost or practicality wall with the site's size, not because we just felt like doing mobile notifs instead.

Valerie.vg @valerie.vg · 19/09/2026
There isn't, but the site can work as a Progressive Web App. It's still just a web page, but it can install some code on your phone to do things like a normal app if you let it. If you've ever seen the Add to Home Screen pop up on a website, it's that.

Yeah we're talking about both with the option to phase out emails later if needed. Right now we're sending out hundreds of emails some days and it's inevitable we're going to run into scaling issues as the site keeps growing.

Valerie.vg @valerie.vg · 19/09/2026
Yeah that's another aspect we were thinking about but didn't have a good answer for. Obviously with most email services you can get really granular with notification settings, but an app approach would be more binary.
150
Valerie.vg @valerie.vg · 19/09/2026
We're discussing moving towards mobile notifications instead of emails for Back in Stock notifications if we can verify the data privacy side of things. You'd use the Install App/Add to Home Screen thing and then get notifications from it like a normal app. How do you feel about this?

While we aren't planning on imposing minimums, ordering two vials is generally the better choice. There's no guarantee that any brewer has stock right when you need it, so planning ahead is always a good choice.

A minimum order quantity of 2 used to be the norm for brewers, I don't think it'd be a bad idea to move back in that direction.
31522
Valerie.vg @valerie.vg · 19/09/2026
You should always have a vial you're using and a fresh untouched one ready to use next. You then look to order a new 2-3 vials once the last one gets opened, not when it's nearly empty. This obviously isn't hindsight 2020 for the folks in a bad spot now, but advice for everyone going forwards.
11627
Valerie.vg @valerie.vg · 19/09/2026
Something we need to get serious about with the recent stock issues is that absolutely no one should be buying individual vials. Brewing vials is easy, the shipping is the hard part. You put far less strain on brewers by buying 3 vials every 2 years than buying 1 vial every 9 months.
