"Appropriate technology" is a technology that is relatively inexpensive, which may not be the most up to date, but which allows for improvement of productivity (Schumacher 1973: 150). On the photo, my improvised example in practice from today's lecture...
"A classroom setting with a projector screen displaying a slide on 'appropriate technology.' The slide has three questions: 'Why is it appropriate?', 'How is it (more) sustainable?', and 'What makes you use it?'. Handwritten annotations in red, blue, and black ink respond to the questions. One response notes that the technology works well if the background is white, another mentions sustainability by reducing screen energy and transport costs, and the last states its pedagogical use when a screen fails. A table with a laptop, papers, and a microphone is visible in the foreground, and the projector screen is mounted on a white wall with electrical outlets and cables nearby."
