Democratic leadership, esp the Clintons, formed the Democratic Leadership Coalition in 1985 in response to Reagan's two disastrous tax cuts for the wealthy. They surrendered the disadvantaged for Bill's political success in 92. Most of today's ineffective Democratic leadership were born then.

The salient point of Paxton's remarks is that whoever controls the money for a campaign control the campaign. I imagine they also control the elected official's votes once they're elected. This is almost always true in the GOP, and is becoming more common among Democratic candidates.

If Dems take the House and have a successful Senate run, it will be a pyrrhic victory unless they change their leadership. Both Jeffries and Schumer have dark money PACs (are they hiding their donors from their own voters?) and take oodles of cash from AIPAC. The leadership should work for you.

The difference is Israel uses religion as its reference. As an atheist, I find it offensive. Again, would Jews would offer a different interpretation, saying it is 'cultural' rather than genetic or religious. Everyone has to make their own determination.

Law of Return is legislation enacted by Israel in 1950 that gives all Jews, people of Jewish ancestry up to at least one Jewish grandparent, and their spouses the right to immigrate to and settle in Israel and obtain citizenship, and obliges the Israeli government to facilitate their immigration.
