I'm so tired. It's 3 AM, and I can't fall asleep. The last several months have been excruciating. I have posted about this before, but I lost my job in April. I used to work at a pretty cool small tech company that put out an EHR software for the Mac. I liked it. Before the acquisition.

Progress! I've got some foundational stuff done for my Dragon Quest style JRPG. We can cleanly transition between a location scene and a battle scene, open up a barely functional menu, and while it's all using assets I had laying around, it is kind of working. Enough structure to iterate on!

Good god, internet nerds, leave Godot alone, they do good work and it's not their fault the current open source landscape is chock full of AI-slop contributions that they have to sort through. Switched to CachyOS over the weekend, after hitting one last full screen "update to Windows 11" ad on a restart that annoyed me enough to consider a move. I had a weird sound crackling issue that I resolved by editing pipewire config files, but otherwise, it's been a really smooth experience.
