HPV vaccines reduce the risk of cervical cancer by 80% in women vaccinated by 16. Yet even 20 years after its introduction, only 63% of U.S. teens have completed the vaccination series. Read this 3-part series: bit.ly/3RSbKIL
Quote that states, "Something I’d never heard of almost killed me."

Text on graphic reads, "Michael Whelan came in for arthritis, and left with a diagnosis of stage 4 HPV-related cancer in his throat. As rates of cervical cancer have fallen, head and neck tumors have emerged as the most common HPV-related cancer."

Image of Michael Whelan in hospital. Graphic with quote, "I tell everybody,
‘This can happen to you’. But it is preventable… You do not have to die from this.”

Text on graphic reads, "Jennifer Simpson is a cervical cancer survivor who lost her uterus, ovaries, and fallopian tubes. Now she helps raise awareness about the importance of prevention in Alabama — the first U.S. state to launch a formal strategic plan to eliminate cervical cancer."

Image of Jennifer Simpson is at the top of the graphic. Graphic with text that reads, "The efficacy of the HPV vaccine has made eliminating cervical cancer achievable. Nearly 200 nations have committed to eliminating cervical cancer. The United States has not. Only 63% of U.S. teens have completed the vaccination series. And there are significant gaps in screening and follow-up care."Quote on graphic by Tamika Felder cervical cancer survivor and founder of Cervivor.

“No one should be diagnosed with or die from a cancer we have the ability to prevent.”

Text below quote reads, "Delivering on the promise of the HPV vaccine will require a coordinated national strategy to increase awareness, vaccinations, screenings, and follow-ups."

The wellness industry is HUGE, even bigger than the pharmaceutical market. But unlike Big Pharma, which has to prove safety and effectiveness, “Big Wellness” isn’t held to the same strict standards. That means lots of bold claims… but not always the science to back them up.

Hep B isn’t just an STI. It can also pass from mom to baby during birth. Every year, about 1,000 infants in the U.S. get Hep B. When it starts early in life, it’s more likely to lead to serious problems like cirrhosis or liver cancer. There’s no cure for Hep B, but the vaccine can prevent it.

cancer by 80% in women vaccinated by age 16." Icon of a vaccine is displayed next to text. Graphic with text that reads, "'All I can do is
tell them that Aunt Erica died of this disease. And that a vaccine could have saved her life.'

Erica and her sister Hallie were 21 and 17 when the HPV vaccine was approved. Hallie got vaccinated. Erica — who had already tested positive for HPV in the past — did not. After a tough fight and tireless advocacy for the cause, Erica passed away from cervical cancer at 33."

Lack of insurance coverage for RSV immunization in hospitals leaves newborns unprotected
As RSV season approaches in much of the country, the AAP and others are fighting for more babies to get immunized before leaving the hospital at birth instead of waiting for a pediatrician visit. But hospitals are running into roadblocks like the high cost of the immunizations and a struggle with insurance companies to negotiate a new payment structure for them.
