More sketchbook fun for the coming spooky season. (Had to repost because I forgot the alt text. Sorry!) #art #artsky #sketchbook #sketch #watercolor #ink #micron #tree #branches #sunset #dusk #drawing

Sakura brush pen and microns with a watercolor background on paper.

A black shadow of a tree with no leaves stands before a gradient watercolor background. The trunk is twisted and the branches are sharp.

Starting at the bottom, the lower part of the background goes from yellow to orange to red. The top half goes from red to purple to blue.

My kid requested Pikachu and Charizard in one Pokemon (specifically asking for two tails). I did my best 😂 I’ll come back later to push the shading. I need to move on so I can try to fill this book before September. #art #artsky #sketchbook #sketch #pokemon #pikachu #charizard #colorpencil

Microns of varying nib size and prismacolor colored pencils on paper.

A drawing of Pikachu combined with Charizard. The body is predominantly Pikachu, who is smiling and faced towards the viewer’s left. His belly is orange, matching the underside of a tail taken from Charizard. A flame is lit on the end of the Charizard tail. The orange is also on the structural portion of the wings, which are small and adjusted to Pikachu’s size. The tissue connected to the structural part of the wings ins blue, matching that of Charizard.

Took a design I did on my D&D cover and redesigned it in my sketchbook for fun. I’ll include the original journal in the replies for reference. #art #artsky #paint #painting #drawing #sketch #sketchbook #acrylic #watercolor #posca #dnd #D&D

Metallic POSCA acrylic markers and Koi watercolor on paper.

A d20 is lined with gold metallic. Within the d20 are yellow, orange, and red hues, meant to invoke the feeling of fire. A silver sword goes through the center of the d20, its gilt blue. A circle of gold adorned with triangles encircles the d20, pierced by the sword. The background is comprised of blues and purples, flecked with white to create a night sky.

The intent is to capture the feeling of my character, Vylathel, who was known as The Midnight Sun during his days as a gladiator.

Microns of varying sized nibs on paper.

A cabin sits on a patch of grass, tucked away amidst trees, rocks, and bushes. Three tall mountains stand high above the cabin, shaded in stippling. A dock extends into the foreground with a tied off boat from it.

Paper and alcohol markers.

A cat with a gray body and blue head walks to the viewer’s right. Its whiskers look more akin to a pushbroom mustache than whiskers. With each step, it is letting out a fart.

Paper and alcohol markers.

The same cat from the other drawing is on the edge of a table. His blue head is looking out over a plate with a steak and peas on it and, for some reason, eggs. Its tongue is out, licking up crumbs.

Three wooden moths painted with acrylic paint.

Leftmost moth: A gothic themed moth with skulls painted on the innermost tips of the wings and orange flowers. Yellow adornments line the inner edge of the wing with green vines next to them. The base color of the top wings is purple. The lower wings are dark blue. The body is black.

Center moth: Mossy moth. Top wing is green with blue flowers and yellow stamen. There are green vines sitting on top of darker green wings. The lower set of wings are brown. The body is white with brown stripes.

Right moth: mushroom moth. Red wings with white dots and gold adornments. The body is brown.

Warm up of a random flower. Line art done in microns and the colors done with colored pencil. Decided to draw from the trans pride flag for the palette. #drawing #sketch #sketchbook #artsky #flower #transpride #art

A drawing of a flower lined with micron and colored with colored pencil.

A flower faces towards the viewer’s right, petals opening to reveal a transition between shades of blue and pink. Shooting off of the left side of the stem is a bud of the same colors. The flower and bud are accompanied by leaves of green, blue, and a warm yellow.

A goal I have for 2026: One fully completed art piece per month minimum (including color). I know it’s likely a long time for each piece, but color and digital work is my weakness. Maybe I’ll increase frequency as time goes on, but one a month feels like a doable place to start.

To follow up on this… The entire family has noticed an improvement in audio quality with Tidal. It’s significant enough that I’m starting to think maybe my hearing wasn’t as bad as I thought it was - Spotify just lacked clarity.

Been struggling with a bit of an art block lately, so I revisited one of my first mediums (posca) and did an intuitive piece, where I just throw shit down and turn it into something. So here’s some sort of space flower or something 😂 #art #sketchbook #posca #acrylic #flower #floral #artsky #drawing

Posca on paper.

A flower with multiple layers of different colors. The center is yellow surrounded by orange. Connected to the orange ring are small, light blue petals. Behind those are larger dark blue petals. Under the dark blue petals is a layer of leaves and a stem flowing towards the bottom of the page.

Personal piece; my Dracthyr from WoW. I fell into a groove with him now that I solidified his face. I’m going to try to focus on actually learning to digital paint now so I can color him like he deserves. #ocsky #oc #artsky #wow #ocart #sketch #sketchbook #concept #dracthyr #visage

CS Paint. Line art.

A nude dracthyr man looks toward the viewer’s left. At the hip is the suggestion of water where the line art ends. He has a broken horn on the far side of his head, capped with a crystal. In his hair is a braid and two strings of stones.

Valkyn @va1kyn.bsky.social · 09/10/2025

I think I’m finally happy with my Dracthyr’s visage concept. Instead of dragon scales, I’m going with snake, which are represented by shading on the upper half of his face. Now I can play with him. #ocsky #oc #artsky #wow #ocart #sketch #sketchbook #concept

Graphite on paper.

A horned man looks straight on to the viewer. He has long hair, with a few shorter strands in the front somewhat wild. Darkened sections of scales paint his face in a simple pattern from the nose up. On the viewer’s left is a simplified braid hanging over his shoulder. On the right, is a string of bead.

Upon his head are a pair of horns; the one on the viewer’s left is broken and crowned with a crystal. The crystal is wrapped with wire in the shape of a tree.
