October research update: As of October 1, 2026, UWCHR researchers have confirmed 298 cases in which federal immigration agents carried out an arrest on Washington roads after querying WA’s DOL database via Nlets. In September 2026, we opened investigations of 137 separate ICE/CBP encounters.
October Research Update: DOL-assisted roadside Immigration arrests in Washington state continue, 298 cases confirmed. UWCHR has confirmed 298 cases where WA drivers were arrested by ICE/CBP following a search of their license plate number in the WA DOL’s database via Nlets.  During September 2026, UWCHR began investigations of 137 separate ICE/CBP encounters reported by community members and advocates. These arrests follow searches performed by 36 unique ORIs affiliated with federal agencies. As WA officials block specific ORIs, alternative ORIs proliferate. Read the report: tinyurl.com/NletsWA

September research update: In August, we knew of 90 total confirmed cases of DOL-assisted roadside immigration arrests. In just the last month, it has jumped to 213 cases.
