When I was a child I was absolutely terrified of Zippy and he would oftentimes haunt my ever frequent nightmares. I think he kept appearing in them until I was almost a teenager?? Still got vague memories of our 'final clash' in a dream fight with, idk, pipes and raw punches.😆

The setting is a pool table, with a few balls laying around. The track is outlined in chalk upon the green of the pool table, as was the case in the old games.

Upon the table a race is going on. Closest to the viewer is Bonnie, one of the racers. She's a Black girl with shoulder length raven hair and a green bow. She drives a 60s formula 1 that's mostly pink with some yellow here and there. She's glancing back with a confident smirk at the driver in 2nd place.

Not far behind her is Spider, essentially the mascot character of the old games and the protagonist of the movie. He's a Caucasian guy with shades, a nehru jacket and his hair in a quaff ala Presley. He makes a smug 'rock on' gesture with his right hand at Bonnie. His 60s F1 is mostly purple with little bits of green.

They're, of course, downsized given the micro scale of the race. Looming over the table with a sinister look on his face is a cruel, wicked man. It's Wasp, Spider's evil Uncle and a career criminal. Standout are his own shades, the toothpick in his mouth, his golden jacket & wasp pin, and his own quaff that may or may not be a toupee.

BONNIE
OK everyone, time for the sixth race of the season! Are you guys ready to tear it up?!

Everyone aside Spider <CHEERS> or at least fistpumps. Walter raises a hand.

WALTER
My Dad might be coming home early. Can we do just one lap?

JOEL

Spider <COUGHS>. Stares at Bonnie - ‘This was the secret?!’

Bonnie smirks. Reaches into her pocket. Takes out a tiny device the size of a paperclip. She presses a button.

The device resizes itself into its true form: a futuristic, pulsating gun - the SHRINK RAY.

BONNIE
Did I say racing? I meant Micro Machines racing!

She pulls the trigger. Everything is consumed by a flash.

INT. BREAKFAST TABLE - STARTING LINE - DAY

Everything comes into focus as the flash fades. Spider looks around, standing amidst the gang.

The kitchen looks different... it’s gigantic! No, not quite. He looks down. Realises he’s standing upon the table.

They’ve all been shrunken down to a centimetre tall! The once tiny jeeps are now the perfect size to drive.

BONNIE
OK everyone, try to keep up!

JETHRO
Not to brag, but... I did more than just ‘keep up’ last time. I won!

Bonnie sticks her tongue out at Jethro. He <LAUGHS> and makes his way to the second jeep on the grid.

He slips on a tiny puddle of orange juice and tumbles down beside his jeep.

INT. GODFREY’S ROOM - DAY

The dreary depths of the underdark, deep below Faerûn, full of darkness, craggy rocks, mist and mushrooms.

Seated upon a mushroom is Meryl, a deep gnome Paladin (Oath of Ancients). Gold of heart and eyes, Black of skin, pink and purple of fluffy hair and in her own sheer lack of self-esteem ways, 'dumb of brain'. It's no easy having a learning disability in a world that doesn't quite grasp what that truly is.

She holds the Blood of Lathander, the magical mace brightening up the area around her. Beyond her and leering down? The visage / silhouette of a vile, cruel, powerful hag. After all, hags are the very source of her lifelong trauma... will she ever be able to move on and put the past to rest?

Nikki turns off the lights. Slumps atop her bed. <SNIFFLES>. After a moment she takes the purple teddy bear to cuddle.

She drifts off... and the eyes of the teddy bear glow.

EXT. LULLABY LANE - NIGHT

A dreamy land of clouds and ethereal stars. Cosmic light and tender, sleepy rays illuminate the ‘street’.

Various doorways stand either side of the cloud street. All sport a unique look and a different face upon them.

A door stands amidst skulls, twisted shadows and eerie eyes leering from the darkness. Nikki’s face is upon the door.

The door opens and Nikki emerges, shutting it behind herself.

She’s gotten a wicked makeover. An eerie jumpsuit themed after the purple bear. Glowing purple eyes. Her hair in pigtails as spiky as a mace. Clawed gloves. Steel boots.

A teddy bear mask designed to cover the top half of her face completes the look, attached to her belt.

NIKKI
Am... am I dreaming?

She takes in the other doors. Observes the faces of other girls in the class upon them. Pauses at the nearest door.

It’s covered in bright paint splatter and very childish crayon scrawl. A few cardboard plants grow around it.

Mahreen’s smiling face is upon the door... and suddenly, her face changes. Anxious. Afraid. Something is wrong!

All of them excel in their own ways, but personally? Cassie's Collection reigns supreme. I just adore it, so very much. I loved how we saw so many sides to Cassie & how the world showed them off; the depths of the library, exploring the books, the amazing setting of Shanghai. But, beyond that? 1/3

*Looks up from writing Micro Machines: The Series* Anyone else find it weird how Walter was explicitly the utter *worst* driver in Micro Machines (1991) and then in V3 he's like the most consistently hard to beat CPU for... some reason? Maybe the new glasses helped him see where he was driving?😆

Having adapted Micro Machines into a movie as a portfolio piece, a part of me wonders about doing the same for Micro Maniacs sometime.🤔 Can't say it wouldn't be interesting!

The Atari movie news intrigues me. I'm oftentimes down for a very strange, very odd and very *interesting* adaptation. Dunno how a pong movie would work, but let 'em try! But that begs the question, what retro games would ya'll want to see adapted? I know my pick! Micro Machines.😎 #Atari #Gaming

The setting is a pool table, with a few balls laying around. The track is outlined in chalk upon the green of the pool table, as was the case in the old games.

Upon the table a race is going on. Closest to the viewer is Bonnie, one of the racers. She's a Black girl with shoulder length raven hair and a green bow. She drives a 60s formula 1 that's mostly pink with some yellow here and there. She's glancing back with a confident smirk at the driver in 2nd place.

Not far behind her is Spider, essentially the mascot character of the old games and the protagonist of the movie. He's a Caucasian guy with shades, a nehru jacket and his hair in a quaff ala Presley. He makes a smug 'rock on' gesture with his right hand at Bonnie. His 60s F1 is mostly purple with little bits of green.

They're, of course, downsized given the micro scale of the race. Looming over the table with a sinister look on his face is a cruel, wicked man. It's Wasp, Spider's evil Uncle and a career criminal. Standout are his own shades, the toothpick in his mouth, his golden jacket & wasp pin, and his own quaff that may or may not be a toupee.

Though her teacher says her head is full of stupid, Dory says she has a heart full of love and intends to not only find her own Mr. Right, but also rule with a focus upon medicine and tender loving care!

Dory hops off the boat. Her gaze is swiftly upon Adam.

Yeah, you know it!! Like, it's as much funny as feelgood, the staff did a smashing job and knew what they were doing. I think it taught some pretty good lessons too, like imo about toxic positivity, a lesson I've had to learn the hard way before. X_X Plus, the facial expressions. So, so, so good!😂
