Hey Bluesky, could you help spread the word? My goal for the day is one new sale. Here's a lovely pic of some of the Jeremy Creatures currently available at my shop. Each one is designed and hand-sewed by me and takes many hours to create. jeremycreature.bigcartel.com
Here's a lovely pic of some of my hand-sewn, fabric art Jeremy Creatures. The ground is green fur and the background is a beautiful galaxy print fabric. One creature is a gray rock with two different sizes black eyes and a little frown. There's a tall ghost with about 35 black eyes of different sizes and a wide mouth full of sharp teeth. There's another spirit with many eyes, twirly head wisps, and an open mouth with sharp teeth. There's also a ghost with a tiny face, with two different sized eyes and a little frown. There's a black ghost with a gray moon face, their body covered with hand-embroidered stars and planets of various sizes and colors. There's a frowny white ghost featuring embroidered red flowers. There's a super tiny frowny white ghost, and a super tiny black ghost with four eyes and embroidered stars.

It helps a bit. It can be a little tricky to get the hole in but at least they make cheap makeup sponges and they come in different sizes. I could probably use a full sized one because I have big hands

I have a tremor in my hands that I've had for about 20 years. I grip my pens really hard. Putting a makeup sponge on them helps a bit, but I try to set a timer to take breaks when I'm going to be drawing for a long time.

It's the prompts and the pressure to do a drawing everyday I think. (I have anxiety so not much is relaxing 😆)

Well this is an obstacle to getting any work done... (No wonder I find cat hairs in my watercolor palettes) Typical Walter behavior.
Grey cat laying on light grey cutting mat. One paw is extended with hand spread in process of doing an excellent air biscuit. The mat and cat are laying on a dark wood table strewn with books and pencils and a hairdryer. There is a TV at the end and a bookshelf with a ceramic Buddha to the right along with a metal folding chair with a striped seat.

That's the way to go. Maybe I'll just try to draw *something* everyday for the months of October. Leave it open

Ooh that is a good idea. I have this Domestika course I bought that's Botanical drawing and I wonder I'd that would help?

That's the best plan. I've got around 60 dino ideas and I figure there's one on there for most days that I'd be excited to draw. I got out of the habit of drawing everyday and I'd like to start doing that again

I used to do Inktober. I stopped for many reasons, but one of the biggest is because I always end up stressed out from drawing a bunch of stuff I don't want to draw & am super burned out afterwards. I'm thinking about doing a Dino-tober. But I'm wondering if that will stress me out too...

That's where I live and I'm damn proud of it. If you ever want to really get nuts with bright and don't care if the color is fugitive, Paul Rubens makes outrageously good neon watercolors. Super cheap. I think I got them on Amazon years ago. Around 20$ for 12.

Oh and separation does happen with the honey ones but I shake them really hard and then if I need to, stir the paint in tube with a bent large paperclip.

Id love to see the MG Indanthrone blue if you get it.

Useless Degree @uselessdegree.bsky.social · 29/08/2026
I was just doing some reading on the differences and it is the honey binder. Because it never dries rock hard like DS, you automatically will get a heavier pigment load. It really depends on how you like to watercolor I guess. I like ultra bright

Useless Degree @uselessdegree.bsky.social · 29/08/2026
Was cheaper than the Schmicke! I would trade in all my DS for M Graham if they had the same colors. I think I just prefer honey based. Sennelier is still my favorite across the board for many shades, especially blues except Ultramarine. Should be able to see the granulation in the lighter swatch

Useless Degree @uselessdegree.bsky.social · 29/08/2026
I made an error. I have an Ultramarine Violet from M Graham that is pretty damn stunning. It's the DS Cobalt Blue Violet I was ambivalent about. If you go really heavy/saturated with honey based you might get a teeny tiny sheen, but even the ultra saturated M Graham Blue isn't shiny.

Here we are. The saturation on M Graham for this shade is infinitely better. Like, it's nuts how good it is. Top L is M Graham, Bottom left is Schmincke, Bottom right Sennelier French Ultra. I also have a Cob Blue Violet from MG and it's OK. About like DS.

Useless Degree @uselessdegree.bsky.social · 29/08/2026
Ok. Kind of hard to see but the Sennelier is definitely the stickiest. My cat stepped in it and is came off on his feet. (And yes, I'm also a paint goblin) I'll send swatches in a moment.
Plastic watercolor Palette pan with almost empty well of dark blue labeled MG Ultra. Plastic watercolor Palette of two dark blue paints in wells. One is labeled Schmincke the other is labeled Sennelier. The Sennelier is much shinierWater color palette showing four wells, two blue and one dark blue and one purple labeled Holbein, Sennelier Daniel Smith and Schmincke

Useless Degree @uselessdegree.bsky.social · 29/08/2026
Sennelier is also honey based and I use that the most. I use tubes. The painti remains tacky but transports just fine in my palettes and I'm not careful at all. I only have two tubes of the brand but the saturation on the Ultramarine blue is stunning. I will see if I can take some photos...

I don't love showing brush strokes in my work which is not easy on the Yupo

Useless Degree @uselessdegree.bsky.social · 29/08/2026
I've just been messing around with it. It's definitely different. Basically painting on plastic. When I painted in oil, I preferred panel or linen (completely unaffordable now) because I like an ultra smooth surface. But, I'm a paper goblin at heart. You can always gesso it.

I prefer different brands for different colors. I have a Schmincke and an M Graham Ultramarine blue and am into the M Graham more, though I generally prefer Schmincke across the board. Maimeri is my go to for cad red. Single pigment with just gum arabic. No ox gall or artifical additives. Gorgeous.

Tundra Violet is incredible. That is the first granulated Schmincke color I bought. Huge fan of Quinacridone Gold. Never tried the DS version. Have some DS tubes. I cannot live without Daniel Smith Hematite Genuine.

Does kind of help the adorably weird ideas though. There's monkeys playing tambourines, fishes on xylophones, frogs setting off fireworks, cows reading Shakespeare, & all kinds of other delightful stuff happening in my head all at once constantly. Before bedtime, it switches to existential terror.
