This week we're exploring using solids to move liquids and this sponge activity was a big hit with every class. Mopping up water with a sponge and squeezing it into a cup. I wish I could show you their faces, they're all so engaged. #STEM #Autism

I'm teaching how to describe liquids today. Wet, fast, slow, sticky. Our samples are water, Elmer's glue, hand sanitizer, apple sauce and maple syrup. Oh messy, sticky day. Fun though.

This is the second time in recent weeks that I've overheard high schoolers on the subway discussing books they have enjoyed. It seems that reading for pleasure is not a lost pastime at all. Also, Irish authors are heavily favored, particularly in the YA romance genre.

I did an Aquafit class today. It's pilates on a floating platform - it's really hard to balance! My whole body was shaking for hours after. I did better than I expected I would. Standing up was so scary!

I took tomorrow off so today is my last day of summer school. We sang the Hello song with the biggest ending EVER. Tears in my eyes and a lump in my throat saying goodbye to some of our graduates, off to middle school they go. Nobody sings Hello Songs in middle school.

I told #Eloise I'd take her to the dog park but she wanted to go in the opposite direction. This is why. New game: drink from the fire hydrant without getting sprayed. Excuse the state of the road. They milled it a few weeks ago and haven't come back to resurface it yet.
