5 years and 1 day ago was when our journey back to being began again, when we played my birthday at The Jericho Tavern Oxford, in this picture with my daughter Cluny, now our tour manager, playing piano on a cover of Mark Mulcahy's Mr Bell. Back at the Jericho on tour in December!

Rich Inner Life is one year old today. #soproud. PS if you bought through our webshop you may have got an email with your download link today. Clearly somewhere in my code I automated something to happen every year instead of just on the release date. Sorry about that!

A very young Andy and a very young Jason at one of our earliest shows, supporting Carter USM in Abingdon, at a charity show organised by future manager David Holt. Come see older us this December - ticket links in bio photo by Karen Carey

A stage with large wedge monitors on the front edge, lots of lights and a security guard stood with crossed arms in front. On the stage is a singer, Andy Yorke, singing into a microphone, and beyond him is a bass player, Jason Moulster, playing the bass. They look young.

3 years since Bush Hall. I could say "little did we think it would lead to a new EP and album", but honestly by the time of the show we were already deep into writing new songs and knew that was where our passion lay. Which brings me to a question, and be honest...

Recording session #2, day #2. Jason joined me for most of the day and we nailed a whole bunch of drum tracks. All sounding good, some sounding incredible exciting. The downside of having written SO MANY songs we're happy with though is there's still loads to do!

A room with fairy lights on the ceiling moodily lighting a Premier Genista drum kit with microphones all over.

Recording phase 2. A different selection of gubbins, but once again much gubbins. I might IG Live later on to explain the process...

Names of mic pickup patterns. We must stop the nonsense. I'm never going to learn which one is "hyper-cardioid." My concrete proposal for simplified nomenclature:

Diagrams of standard microphone pickup patterns labelled as what they look like: O, 8, Hat, Hat on head, Hat on fat head, Balloon sword

What a fantastic time at Charlbury Riverside Festival last weekend, seeing amazing bands, great company in the sun, and Andy busking with his son Laurie. Oh, and we played a gig as well. Here's the evidence. Hopefully see you there again next year!

Really looking forward to our favourite festival Charlbury Riverside this weekend. We're on the main stage on Sunday at 5pm. Who's coming? What do you want to hear? What do you want us to wear?

We don't do cover versions that often. A while back we posted this version of REM's sublime Perfect Circle on our YouTube, and we've released covers of Hugo Largo and Mark Mulcahy. Is there anything you think would be really suited for us to cover? _maybe_ we'll play it on our December tour...

On this day in 1998 the fourth and final single from Almost Here was released, a double A side of Settle Down with Dune Sea, a previously unreleased track (and only song of ours with a Star Wars reference) that we loved but didn't fit on the album.

Not had a listen to this or any other music in the last few days really - I'm still in emotional turmoil /physical exhaustion & trying to process our SGP campaign/results. This lovely review is making me think that a wee spin of Almost Here would be restorative - it would probably also make me cry.

The incredible "Almost Here" by @untruth-band.bsky.social gets a well deserved re-release, but this time with an extra disc with the "missing" From This Height and all the amazing B-sides from that era. "I never was a true believer I never asked you to come with me You can find your own way home."

Packed all the vinyl (in a moody backlit way) and Princess Peach stood guard until they were ready to go to the post office, which they have now done. So if you pre-ordered the Almost Here vinyl re-release, it's on its way to you.

The vinyl stock of Almost Here has arrived. Princess Peach has inspected the deluxe two disc version and the packaging and declared them acceptable, so pre-orders will ship as soon as I can get them done, ahead of the 8th May release date. If you haven't ordered yours yet, now is the time!

If you've not heard @untruth-band.bsky.social before, give this a listen. They should be as famous as Arcade Fire or Crowded House. Hearing them next to Coldplay makes you realise how the latter really are the Enya of indie. Slap on their quality tunes. You will still be singing along decades later.
