Bad news, RPG Maker Web is shutting down, you won't be able to post there in a week, and it's getting deleted in December. Very not cool. On top of that, the supposed new site for discussion is... uh... well read this before posting there:

New short game from me! :DDD unity.itch.io/for-the-love... Made for the "I Love You, ____!" Game Jam on rpgmakerweb.com A short 2-3 hours RPG that looks back fondly at the old days of RPG Maker, using RTP from just about every engine. Silly, wacky, and I poke a lot of fun at myself XD

50) Last Scenario site.scfworks.com?page_id=8 Need to replay this one because it's been awhile, but Last Scenario gets points for having one of the most seemingly predictable RPG openings and then turning everything on its head. A fascinating game, but not a short one.

Anyway, this is my favorite out of their most recent stuff, Indrah's mapping is always amazing, her characters are always fun and charming, and Fomar always does amazing things with systems and battles!

47) Hero's Realm gamejolt.com/games/hero-s... @kentonagbone.bsky.social knows what he did, he made a freaking oldschool RM classic with Hero's Realm. One of the few 2k3 games that made me sit up and take notice, and then bask in the oldschool vibes. ...where is Hero's Realm Heroic Edition? :P

43) yume 2kki Instead of the original Yume Nikki, I'll put this here. Because it's a community project, it's much vaster and varied than the original, though it lacks that cohesion that a single dev brings. Still, I enjoy wandering endless dreamscapes.

While I respect some of what it was doing, I never clicked with the first F&H, but something about Termina pulled me in. I still think it's way too brutal for its own good (esp in gameplay and letting-you-save) but I bashed my head against it for several hours out of sheer fascination of the setting

Yeah, ENDROLL is something else. Unfortunately I can't really talk about it too much. But you might be better starting off with Farethere City from earlier on this list, see what you think of that one, before trying this game.

36) Ladykiller in a Bind Up front, this is an Adult game! But it's really good! Social deduction/crossdressing VN with a lot of sizzle and ladies going after ladies... Ashamed to admit I still haven't finished Love's next game, Get in the Car Loser, but I hope to fix that in 2026

Haven't played int a bit but the dev's always adding new stuff, I bet there's a lot more than back when I played. Haven't played many games where you can make money carrying around a huge wooden harp only to be beaned by people who hate your singing XD

By Pixel, the Cave Story dev, I don't see this game get nearly as much love as I think it should. While Cave Story is my favorite this game also has a lot to offer! The soundtrack is also super catchy and fun!

What really impressed me is just the amount of storytelling and worldbuilding packed into the experience. This short game about slimes was a lot more impactful than I expected.

This game does the eldritch right, making the cosmos creepy as you wander from apartment to apartment, floor to floor, trying to figure out what the hell is going on. Not a perfect game, I have some nitpicks, but a game that forced me to play until the end just to see what it had in store. Superb!

The game seems very simple, but there's a surprising amount of depth to all of this and I can spend hours trying to uncover its secrets, from party members to that pesky dark lord.

Also a very striking art style and just tons and tons of artwork in the game. Humor can be a bit lewd and the translation is a bit wonky at parts (but seems to get better as the game goes on), but overall a very solid game.

Has a fully custom 1v1 battle system (in fact I think all of the menus/systems are custom) in which you can equip genes and gain a variety of cool special moves and weird items. You can throw cats at enemies and there's like full convos for most characters if you do XD

You're a test subject in a shady lab who is going to be disposed of for being defective when a healer lady (with literal scapel-limbs coming out of her back) frees you and you have to fight your way out of the facility.

Nothing weird or strange ever happens to cute little guys, right? Should be fine, right?

If you manage to get thru all the suffering, you'll find a delightful friends/found family story buried somewhere deep past the crushing world that's a little too relatable.

An RPG with a strange, surreal creepy setting and a very interesting unconventional battle system. Really looking forward to the dev's next game, Kissed by A Star, out early next year! :DDD

It's hard to describe the appeal, but the atmosphere of the game really pulled me in, and there are just so many many things to discover in this game, it's pretty addictive if you like to find secrets. Also the music's really good!!! And the art!!!

The game has a very simple premise of you just exploring at first, but really goes some places. I found the whole thing delightful and I really liked how they brought everything together for the ending, it really surprised me. Also the battle system is just a ton of fun.

With a battle system that reinforces the theme of survival and having to wear down your enemies and pay special attention in battle, the part I liked best were the characters struggles to make some sort of place for themselves in the world.

Like all Segawa's games, there is some looming darkness and a lot of optional secrets, but the game is mostly just you poking around and experiencing the world. A fun short experience.

On the surface seems like a simple adventure game where in each part you need to make a dish to win the tournament, but there's a lot more here, the art style and tilesets are gorgeous and just very cool to look at :DDD

Once I got into the flow of this game, I was super addicted! Your characters decks are very small but impactful, and combining passives with the right deck feels awesome. The story is dark but compelling, and I absolutely love the two protags, Roland and Angela, and was enthralled by the story.

The action is fun and addicting, the characters are all fantastic and lovable, and the story is short but incredibly sweet and gets me right in the feels every time. Just an amazing total package and one of my favorite games ever! Thanks again @itsmelilyv.bsky.social for such an amazing game :D
