Thank you to everyone that attended #17thDSS and made it such a success. We have had an excellent three days of reflection, discussion and engagement. It would not have been possible without you all. We wish everyone a safe journey home & hope we can welcome you back to Galway again soon!
Group photo of attendees at the 17th International Disability Law Summer School. It shows a large, diverse group of attendees gathered indoors, smiling up at the camera. Participants include people of different ages, genders, and ethnic backgrounds, some wearing conference lanyards and some using wheelchairs or mobility aids. A banner for a centre focused on disability law and policy is visible in the background.

A lovely sunny lunchtime at the 17th International Disability Law Summer School. We are all hoping it stays like this for our BBQ later.
People sit and chat at picnic tables outside a modern multi-story building on a sunny day. In the foreground, three people are seated inside a curved metal-covered outdoor shelter. A paved walkway runs through a grassy courtyard with several benches, lamp posts, and trees. The sky is partly cloudy with bright sunlight illuminating the scene.

Today at #17thDSS we reflect on missed opportunities in the UNCRPD, adapting to emerging challenges and consider the UNCRPD in conversation with other human rights instruments.
A large conference lecture hall with a panel discussion taking place at the front. Four panelists sit behind a long table decorated with numerous small international flags, while a presenter stands at a podium to the left. A large projection screen displays a slide titled “KEY OUTCOMES” about disability-inclusive climate action, featuring photos and text on policy, grassroots engagement, and global advocacy. Additional screens on either side show presentation content, including a sign language interpreter on the right. Audience members are seated throughout the room, watching the session
