Last night I watched the sun set until full dark. I had no power after the hurricane, so that was kind of all I wanted to do. Sit and stare, and be grateful that we are fine. Today I am catching up on the world and grateful in more ways, including electric power.

The morning before the hurricane two sparrows landed directly in my path on the way to the car. I have mentioned that seeing small birds here are rare. I believe they brought me Good Karma.

So I think this was my third major hurricane in Florida over the last nine years. I do not require any more.

Posting about 3 pm Sunday to update we now have continuous power (so far), internet and phone service, and no damage to our immediate area. Checked in with many neighbors, made a little drive around, and saw light damages with trees, fences, etc., no big structural damage. I am so beyond grateful.

I survived the hurricane! We just got power back but limited Internet and phone service. I had no damage to my condo. The water did not go over the wall, so no flooding. More details later. I am so grateful.

yes, in certain areas. I am still holding out so far. I have seen several of my neighbors out and about this morning. I put on my favorite purple shirt and sit watching by the window.

Looks like the storm is lessening but remains heading directly towards me. I dragged the patio furniture in and helped the neighbors with their stuff. I am so grateful my neighbors watch over me. I am going for one last nice coffee run before the hurricane comes.

Schools just cancelled classes here Friday and Saturday in preparation for the hurricane coming our way. I got gas and groceries. Let's see what happens. I am not all worried or worked about it, this is Florida. This is what we do.

I'm better, got up and took a little drive across Okaloosa Island. That ocean air helped me to breathe better. The water colors were brilliant greens and blues.

Renewed after crossing Okaloosa Island and absorbing those brilliant greens, blues, purples, turquoises of the Emerald Coast. Also, enormous sinkhole on the island, crews working hard. Tomato and avocado from the market and this day greatly lifted.

She wasn't surprised what she saw at the top of the mountain. She had been there before. She knew she couldn't stay, as she was duty bound to return to the house where she could not escape. But those brief, fleeting moments at the mountaintop were the only things keeping her together.
