here's a very spoilery bit of chapter 18 of oh my days for wip wednesday, because does it really count as a spoiler if, even though it's chapters away, everyone knows it's coming eventually?

"You're my best friend," he managed, because Stede needed to know that, at least. "Really. I value you more than you know, even if I'm fucking awful at showing it."

"I value you, too," Stede replied, choosing not to use a perfectly good opportunity to agree with him about his communication skills (or lack thereof). "So much, Ed. It pained me so much to think I'd lost you."

"You haven't lost me," Ed assured him, even though he was fairly certain he'd lost himself somewhere along the way. Truthfully, some part of him would probably always belong to Stede, no matter what happened in the near or distant future. He'd never felt so right with someone else, never been so comfortable. "Promise."

Stede gave him the sweetest little smile and placed a hand on his knee, and Ed felt the touch all over his body. It almost made him shiver. It did make him want more.

"I know this probably sounds like a terrible idea, all things considered, but… I could use a friend tonight?"

Stede finished his beer and swiped a finger over his mustache, smoothing it out.

"I'll call a cab."

there are, like, 3-7 days of each menstrual cycle where my abdomen feels like it expands by several inches and absolutely nothing can be done about it and it makes it hard to eat and sit and walk and do literally anything and i’m sick of it!!!

i went to the presentation about the new lgbtq+ archival collection at the university and there were a bunch of people there who were represented in it and telling stories and providing context and godddd, i love gay people!!! 🥹

crazy how i went from no doctor's appointments and only a couple of routine meetings a month to a million doctor's appointments and ten million meetings at assorted times a month in almost no time and my life has become just moving appointments around and praying i'll have insurance settled by then.

right??? like, i -do- have some savings right now, but only because i paid off my car and credit card debt when i was getting pandemic unemployment and have lived with my mom for the past five years, but every penny to my name still wouldn't even be enough to wipe out my student loan debt.
