Would be cool if they made a Resident Evil that was from a fixed camera perspective, almost like a security camera watching the character. That way you could control your character like a tank moving through the environment.

I was not much older on my first (mostly accidental) watch and the scene where Ash’s true nature is revealed is seared into my brain.

I was going to recommend Silent Hill, so I'm glad you started there haha. SH4: The Room will probably be the most helpful here though, seeing as that one takes place in an apartment building.

Apartments are such a good location for an adventure, but hot damn is it hard to do right hahah. I've got like 3 of them in various stages of outline/draft that are waiting for me to have more time. Excited to see this one come together!

"Huluween" unfortunately still must learn the crucial lesson that not every horror movie is a Halloween movie.

I'm really vibing with Control Resonant, but I must admit that Returnal and Saros broke my brain as to what I should expect when it comes to dynamic boss battles.

I put together a "15 minute session" for Liminal Horror anticipating this issue haha. Vendor hall kinda dead? Come to the table and we'll make a character and run a little encounter.

My advice is generally "get the low tier Casper mattress and put a topper on it since they're pretty firm". That'll still run you like $900, which is bad, but not like Tempur-Pedic bad. I think Sealy has foam and hybrids that run like $300-400.

When we put together LH: Outbreak (our con event), the solution was just “fuck it, this is a new fake city that’s basically owned by a corp that heavily invested in the infrastructure”. Seems like that’s along the lines of IR’s solution too haha.

RE0 gets away with this a bit by having an above ground line for their double decker passenger line, but even that was a bit of a stretch haha.

Josh D | Vaulted Pyramid @unenthuser.bsky.social · 01/10/2026
We ran into that issue with Liminal Horror as the only city in the PNW that has an underground rail is Seattle, and that barely counts. But we needed something to make Silent Street Station and Recursive Transit work.

One of my favorite parts of Japanese survival horror games set in the US is that they vastly overestimate the amount of commuter rail there is in the country. Train scenarios are sick, but there’s something like 10 US cities that have the necessary rail line.

If you need a good module to sink your teeth into, I'd recommend either Vampire Cruise by @amandalee.bsky.social or Von Hynd Manor by @evilgoblin.wedding. VC was last year's spooky season special for my home table and it is incredible. Just started running VHM and it's been going great.

*Zeppelin's last album is technically Coda, but that was released after the band disbanded and it's mainly just a compilation of previously unreleased material.

In Through the Out Door is a banger of an album though. It's basically the result of everyone's collective lives and the band itself falling apart, but musically it's one of their most interesting albums due to the departure from their "harder" sound.

My favorite thing about Led Zeppelin is that for their final* album, 10+ years into their career, they just say "fuck it" and make a honky-tonk rockabilly song called "Hot Dog" that's a bit of lighthearted clowning on Texas.

The contest also does not have a cash prize, so it’s purely for the love of the game. However, apparently the winners make bank afterwards due to print sales and licensing.

The interesting thing about the contest is that judging is done blind and the judges themselves change every year, so these dude are just real fucking good at painting ducks.

For hobby news outside your orbit, the Federal Duck Stamp competition has come to a close with yet another win by one of the Hautman brothers, who collectively have won the competition 17 times since 1990 despite winners being barred from entry for 3 years after a win.

This is one of my favorite examples when discussing the lack of a “continuous narrative” in these type of mythic stories. Excalibur is both swords or neither, as it heavily depends on who was writing the stories and when.

Jokes aside, I had a blast. Really loved seeing some creepy crawlies that felt like they were directly ripped out of a Liminal Horror zine. Whole movie felt like it could have been a LH module too, right up to its bold choice in ending.

Bloodheist for sure. I'm going to try and squeeze in at least a one-shot of Blackthorn. We're also working on a Halloween one-shot for Liminal Horror that I'm going to run at a con and for my home group.

It's mostly a collection of the sicko shit (positive) that couldn't be made into X-Files episodes. Like right during the first season you got a bomber whose whole thing is that he's cranking hog beforehand, but it's network TV so they're just jumping through hoops to avoid outright saying it.
