Most of the software I’m interested in making either has no business case, or it is rooted in my desire to dismantle some of the weird dogmatism I keep encountering on the job. In both cases, likely no one would ever pay me to make it, and this makes me sad.

I played #spacemarine2 today, and I finally succeeded in beating not one, but TWO missions on lethal. The last time I felt such an adrenaline high from a game was the first time I reached the final boss in #hades with Extreme Measures 4 active. My heart was pounding. I could hear my heart beat lol

When I played 40k, an important criteria for me when building army lists was that it had to be fun to play against it. With Force Org in OPR, I have yet to face an unenjoyable list, but it is still a core principle. Which kind of lists do you think is the most fun to play against? #oneopagerules

Back when I was playing warhammer 40k in 3rd ed, I was the kind of rules lawyer that would fight you over difficult terrain rules, if your misunderstanding of the rules was a benefit to me. Daddy didn’t raise no cheater. Oh wait, that is still how I am. Now I just play #onepagerules instead 🤔

This is not the problem, just the symptom of the real one. Businesses that survive in the long run are profitable. Being a blight on society has no direct impact on profitability. In fact, trying to “do good” will never make it easier to be profitable, but will probably limit your options.

I had a real existential crisis back in the day, when I first learned about Roko’s Basilisk. At the time, I had recently abandoned my faith, and I couldn’t see how ironic it was. I think about this sometimes and chuckle to myself. It’s not all bad growing up.

Toying around with making my own wargame for large scale battles, with epic scale models. The motivation is to try out some ideas I had, which I have not seen elsewhere. Ideation and concept work is very fun. But actually committing to a simple draft POC is just sooooo hard. #wargames
