Just drew a diagram to help me understand some of the complications of a piece of code I'm trying to design (constructing SubReceiverSets from IpcReceiverSets, for anyone who has been following along in my blog). Thank goodness for graphviz - so much neater than my hand-drawn attempt.
Some examples of how subreceivers, with the same or distinct underlying IpcChannels, may be grouped into SubReceiverSets.

I don't know if the following is helpful to partially sighted readers, but I include it anyway.

digraph IpcChannelMultiplexingReceiverSets {
    rankdir=LR;
    center=1;
    nodesep=0.3;
    compound=true;
	node [shape=box][width=1.8][fontname="Courier-Bold"];
	edge [splines=true][fontname="Courier"];

    edge [color=black][style=dotted];
    "MultiReceiverX" -> "SubReceiverA"[label="data"];
    "MultiReceiverX" -> "SubReceiverC"[label="data"];
    "MultiReceiverX" -> "SubReceiverD"[label="data"];
    "IpcReceiverX" -> "MultiReceiverX"[label="data"];

    "MultiReceiverY" -> "SubReceiverB"[label="data"];
    "MultiReceiverY" -> "SubReceiverE"[label="data"];
    "MultiReceiverY" -> "SubReceiverF"[label="data"];
    "MultiReceiverY" -> "SubReceiverG"[label="data"];
    "IpcReceiverY" -> "MultiReceiverY"[label="data"];

    subgraph cluster1 {
        label="SubReceiverSet1";
        "SubReceiverC" [color="gray"][fontcolor="gray"]
        "SubReceiverD" [color="gray"][fontcolor="gray"]
        "SubReceiverE" [color="gray"][fontcolor="gray"]
    }

    subgraph cluster2 {
        label="SubReceiverSet2";
        "SubReceiverF" [color="gray"][fontcolor="gray"]
        "SubReceiverG" [color="gray"][fontcolor="gray"]
    }

    subgraph cluster3 {
        label="IpcReceiverSet";
        "IpcReceiverX";
        "IpcReceiverY";
    }
}

Visited the tetrapod tracks on Valentia Island. These indentations in the rock are the fossil remains of footsteps of a tetrapod 385 million years ago, before dinosaurs. These are apparently the oldest such footsteps in situ in the world. #Ireland
Two parallel lines of circular indentations, about 20 in all, on grey rock.

Spending nearly a week near the Ring of Kerry in south-west Ireland. Beautiful scenery. Lovely people.
Our location, on one of the most westerly parts of Ireland.Fairly poor photo of the view from our rental cottage across the sea to small islands.

@jamesravey Interesting. I previously tailed the logs and it wasn't particularly busy. So I just ran top for a minute or two and, again, it was quiet: 0.0% average CPU usage and 36% of the RAM free. I must be in a quiet backwater of the internet...
Output of top showing 0.0% CPU usage and 36% of the RAM free.

@timbray What should we infer from slide 84? 1. Generative AI has already happened. 2. Agentic AI is just about to happen. 3. Robots with AI are a little way off. 4. We don't know what the Y-axis represents, but it's getting exponentially bigger. 5. Presumably […] [Original post on fosstodon.org]

Quite pleased with these two new (so-called) FAQs for github.com/ai-robots-txt/ai.robots.… www.aclu.org www.dec.org.uk #WeDontNeedYourMoney #WeDontAcceptDponsorship #ACLU #DEC
I'd like to donate money

That's kind of you, but we don't need your money. If you insist, we'd love you to make a donation to the American Civil Liberties Union, the Disasters Emergency Committee, or a similar organisation.

Can my company sponsor ai.robots.txt?

No, thank you. We do not accept sponsorship of any kind. We prefer to maintain our independence. Our costs are negligible as we are entirely volunteer-based and community-driven.

[UK politics] I heard of someone who worked in domestic service (i.e. as a servant) and said she found smiling all day very tiring. I wonder if Rachel Reeves feels the same. But the IMF's approval of her plan to change the UK budget rules to enable more investment is certainly good news.
