Cerastus Knight Acheron; callsign Lich, is the last survivor of a long forgotten traitor house and the Titan legion it was bonded to. It is believed to have fought the Long War against the Imperium entirely within realspace, a fact attributed to the dark rumours around its fallen household and the experiments performed by them and the dark mechanicum during the heresy. It is a towering rusting colossus; the blue, black and gold of its original heraldry buried under centuries of soot, grime, rust and wear, yet it still functions nearly like new. It’s armed with a lengthy flamethrower charred with burn marks and a chains and bolter caked in gore from centuries of service. Atop the knight, cresting its bony crown is a singular ominous bell, long consumed by verdigris and tolls with every step. Said step blackens the ground with every footfall, the life it walks upon turning into a blasted wasteland.

realized the night before my first trench crusade game i had enough points for a war wolf so i (hurriedly) built and painted this last night it’s not perfect (didn’t shade the skulls and there’s primer showing) but for a rush job it looks pretty decent surprisingly #minipainting #trenchcrusade

depressingly yellow is not a colour i use a lot, even though it was my favourite when i was a kid… but when i have used it as an accent it’s come out so well

i converted a beneficus for my gsc about a year ago cause it’s my least favourite model in their range it’s taken until now to paint cause it was a pain to get right and even tsking these pictures was a bit of a faf this model is cursed #warhammercommunity #40k #genestealercults #minipainting

A genestealer cults beneficus. Literally a walking lascannon as it shoots a psychic bean equivalent to a lascannon. Geedubs did not even try with this model rules wise or looks wise so I tried to do something different. Instead of this just being a digital kitbash of a magus with the patriarch’s big brain I tried to turn it into a human/zoanthrope hybrid sort of thing with a long tail and levitation as opposed to just being a human standing around. This also meant swapping the positions of the hands so its staff now points down and a genestealer rending claw is swiping the air above. It floats over a destroyed space wolf dreadnought shoulder, lovingly borrowed from my wife’s Magnus the Red spare bits.

Rear view of the beneficus, showing the mutations that were kitbashed onto it, a knot of purple tendrils and luminescent lumps (the same colour as its oversized brain) that twist its legs into a long coiling tail. The legs sort of merge and one extends down however the vestigial foot of the other still stays to support it. It’s a bit resident evil in the mutations but I think it works well to sell the idea that this is more than just a human with a big brain.

They were my first army for 40k and I love them to bits even after everything they’ve been through. I kept the colours but pushed the metallics and the highlights on the chitin-y bits more than my older models. It also stands out from them as the tyranid parts are purple and I usually make those parts look like the patriarch itself (red, claret, yellow and black) but I felt the purples and pinks sell the muations more on this.

A heretic priest, a sinister red cloaked preacher of the forces of hell. Their robes have heretical scripture pinned to the cloth. A chain with a horned skull is wrapped around their neck, and a battered and bloody gas mask and helmet sits on their head. In one hand they carry a wicked blade and the other a heretical text levitates from their barbed wire wrapped arm, glowing with sulphuric green flames.

A goetic warlock, a tortured soul in a prison of iron. Their bloody, flayed body is constricted and torn by a gothic iron exoskeleton, with a high collar and pauldrons. The warlock’s hands are long razor claws and its head is a bare goat skull. There is an ominous green glowing engine stabbed behind the creatures cape, covered in script and dragging atop a fallen New Antioch soldier, buried in the mud and wrapped in barbed wire, which the warlock strides over.

been working on my long shelved #trenchcrusade warband finally, and i’ve gotten around to my heretic troopers i really like how they’ve come out all dingy and grimdark as i envisioned also painted a death commando with a glowy green sword like the the witch and chorister i have #minipainting

behind the glamour of madness the scions of new summercourt are nothing but feral monsters (this was a bit of an obvious pick from me, but i love showing my ghouls off)

Turkey man is not a monster, he is a turkey man. He may be green, distended, covered in blood with too long claws, and have skulls litter his base but he’s not a monster.

Peel back the aura of madness emanated by the Mortarch of Delusion and what you see is a towering mutant vampire, with claws way too long and the affectations of his rulership; his scepter, crown and cloak are all warped, delusional mirrors, crusted with blood and gore.

Gormayne may be the only one who knows how much of a monster he is. The grand justice; in his intestine wig of office and grimoire which aside from scratchings in blood is completely blank, has the unfortunate affectation of being dreadfully sane at times, and sees all what he is and what those around him are.

The High falconer maintains somewhat of a gentleman thief appellation in his mind, clad in furs and his jaunty cap with a feather. But the feather is a bat wing, the furs someone’s flayed skin. His prize falcon is in reality a screaming bat creature, and his own extensive and dapper hair style is matted with blood.

Two more raveners; six limbed, serpentine bug aliens covered in spikes and hardened carapace. The left one is the wrecker, sporting huge crab claws, an ankylosaur tail club and a large distended split mouth. The right one; the tremorscythe, has 6 large antennae emerging from its head crest alongside a few extra eyes.

The army is mostly white armoured space marines with blue shoulder pads as this is mostly made of my 30k Horus heresy world eaters army with a few characters from the 40K, these models are easier to spot as they aren’t batch painted messes (the eightbound, slaughterbound, daemon prince and MoE)

A squad of eightbound/exhaulted eightbound and a slaughterbound, warriors of khorne who are pseudo-possessed. I don’t like these models at all baseline so I had to convert, add things to them and make one from parts as I’d already used the third one in a dreadnought kitbash. Each throw themselves into battle with their demonic mutations and assorted weaponry

Three eightbound. The middle one is mostly made from the old greater possessed with and eightbound arms and face and a bloodletter’s sword. The two on the left and right are the base kit, muscular shirtless dudes in red armour who despite having eight khorne daemons inside them do not show it at all. I gave them horns and red and black tints to their skin and the spikes coming off them to invoke this missing daemon-ness I think the kits have.

A slaughterbound, a red armoured leaping angry possessed chaos space marine devoted to khorne. IMO the fourth most disappointing model of 10th edition, only behind the get beneficus, the inquisitor coteaz remake and the short king Shield Captain. I did my best to try and make him look like someone possessed by a greater daemon, starting with reusing the bare feet from the eightbound box, which in turn turned him from standing on a tactical rock to leaping towards something, ditching his piddly chain cleaver for an aos orc arm and giving him a tail, cause more khorne daemons should have tails.

I think the pose change helps this model far more than I initially thought, as it gives it more movement to the model and opens up its stance. The daemon tail and chain claw/daemonic talon hybrid also blend into the skin and armour of the model.

Fulgrim; daemon primarch of slaanesh, hedonistically scarified and wearing shiny silver armour, on the prowl in a bloody furnace or something. The gemstones on his shoulder pad and torso decoration are glinting fiery eyeballs and his right handed slaaneshi blade is a very shiny metallic purple, contrasting much with the gore and body horror of the rest of the model.

Two models from Wyrd Games’ mass battle game The Other Side. They belong to the Cult of the Burning Man faction. One of them; Fenton Brahms, is a military looking man holding aloft a flaming stick (I even did a bit of osl; think this was my first attempt at it). The other; Goryshche, is a towering multi headed undead dragon creature bellowing smoke from most of its heads. This is a new picture of some of my older models so there is some wear and tear on the dragon especially and a few mold lines I failed to notice before painting

A Master of Executions of the World Eaters kitbashed from the newest aos deathbringer. He looks far more put together and less covered in blood than other members of the XII and gives the impression of a hardened gladiator rather than a bloodthirsty maniac. He has a chainaxe chained to his wrist and a bladed shield with a large khorne emblem on it. The marine is in the heresy colours of the world eaters; white armour with blue pauldrons and brassy gold trim, spattered in blood rather than soaked in blood.

On his left shoulder pad are the numbers 331, marking this marine to be a member of the world eaters warband Gladiator Cadre 331, who stuck with the XIIth’s traditions of gladiator pits and heresy era colouring.

The MoE’s power pack is the only visible sign of chaotic mutation, its vents fleshy teethed appendages vaguely in the shape of the Sicilian of khorne. Underneath this is a collection of skulls, like all good warriors of the blood god.
