it's done! This Chocolate Mint Snow Leopard tail is 3 feet long, and all finished, finally. It took hours and hours and hours of hand sewing. It's all ready for a new home at #Vancoufur. Come find me in the Artists Alley, table #12 on Friday and 11 on Sunday. #fursuit #furry #snowleopard

Sometimes I invent a creature and never do anything with it, so of course I"m going to recycle it for my comic! I needed to do a re-draw/re-design since this alien is getting featured for a couple of pages coming up. #unchosenstar #speculativebiology #vikabb #aliendesign #alien #otter

Text: Species: Vikabb. Swipe to see original design drawn in 2008!
The creature is a slick blue alien otter, with short, spiky ears,, It has a tall fin along its back and around the tail starting at the forehead. it has 3 fingers and 2 thumbs on each front foot, and 5 toes on the back legs, two facing backwards like a parrots foot. It has four slits on what would be the nose on an otter, but for this creature they are gills. It has 4 eyes, two on each side of the head.

the same creature as the previous page, but drawn very poorly in comparison. It's all pencil sketches with hard to read notes on the biology.

I really love these little critters. They act as pest control in space! It's hard to program cleaners to target only invasive species, it's much easier to train and keep the equivalent of a Ship's Cat to deal with them. #webcomic #unchosenstar #elyei #shipssnake #python #alien #speculativefiction

Caption: Me: I should make some cute doodles of the Elyei, so I can make people love them as much as I do!

Introducing: Triftlings! These little critters are inspired by a love for really tiny people like The Borrowers, Honey I shrunk the Kids, lilliputians, etc etc. I wanted to invent something that wasn't just... tiny humans. #triftlings #triftling #tinyfolks #worldbuilding #furry #furryart

A small hunched furry creature, with a sewing needle as a staff/weapon. The creature has a hyena or doglike face, with wide, deer-like ears. It's digitigrade with oversized cat-like feet, and 5-fingered clawed hands. It has a long, monkey-like tail. It's coloured a dusky blue, with dark dusky purple and white markings. It wears clothing from tiny fabric scraps, and a discarding alumininum chain maille ring around its ankle. It's one 1 inch tall, and standing on the base of a lamp.

The text reads TRIFTLING large along the top, and the paragraphs are

"Triftlings are a very tiny race of creatures that typically live inside the homes of full sized humans in secret.

At only one inch tall, they scavange and scrounge through the homes when the humans are asleep or away.

Triftlings have excellent night vision, and large, flexible ears. Their tails are prehensile, and their claws are retractible, making them fantastic climbers.

Preferring homes with lots of clutter, they do very well with lost bits of bobbles under the couches, and bits of food dropped under the counters and fridge.

They are strong for their size, and very resourceful, and can thrive perfectly well even in homes with pets. Cat or dog food is readily available, and fresh water is always out.

They will often set up their homes inside the walls, to avoid losing them when the humans decide to clean, re-arrange or even move out. "
