Happy early WIP day! Have some Fields of Mistria ficcie where March is yelling at Parvin (tbf, Parvin does kinda sorta definitely deserve to be yelled at here).

No one would ever, in a million years, accuse March of being patient.

“One of you is full of shit and I’m pretty sure it’s the damn merchant but don’t think I don’t know you’re not not full of shit!” he snapped.

Parvin stared at him blankly—but in that stupid, amiable way that made them look like a dog that’s just been tricked by their owner only pretending to throw a stick.

Then their lips moved as they tried to work out what he meant.

Not...not full of shit...?

They stood at their workbench just outside the cottage—without a shirt on!—and appeared to be testing several seed starters. The table was covered in pots, half of which were a bit over half-filled with soil. A few sprouts could be seen poking above the rims.

“Sorry, you seem to be fourteen steps ahead of me right now. What are you angry about?”

“I’m not angry!”

They pursed their lips. “Ah, my mistake. The colorful language, aggressive tone, and volume led me to the wrong conclusion. Is this an invitation to afternoon tea?”

“Shut up!”

Parvin closed their mouth and smiled at him. Politely.

Fic I Did Not Expect To Write: Going surprisingly well. The chapter after next has a bear in it (not Hayden) (Hayden is in the chapter but he's not the bear) (it's an actual bear with fur--)(IT'S NOT HAYDEN I SWEAR).

A layout of notes describing each chapter of the current Fields of Mistria fic I've got going. This is what's written so far. First drafts, all.

1: The Dent in the Armor
"Parvin shows up and makes friends and drives March up a wall. A piece of dented armor is involved but not in a sexy way."
2: The Farmstead
"In which March has an existential crisis over a bare chest and argues (argues is crossed out and replaced with:) loses an argument with a cat."
3: The Joys of Blacksmithing
"March gets to teach Parvin some blacksmithing but first he has to have Vera teach him how to braid hair. Only you can prevent forest fires...er...premature baldness?"
4: The Traveler
"March and Balor get told a fun, light-hearted story about the time Parvin lost their mind and killed a bunch of people.
(They were protecting a town from a mob it’s fine it’s fine they don’t carry around any residual trauma from the event at all.)"
5: The Trembling Shelf
"Because I need to write something that showcases that March CAN make friends! Also apparently we’re establishing the beta couple (cute...), March gives Parvin a book, and makes plans for Tuesday.

He pursed his lips. “I guess that explains why you thought digging up an earthworm and handing it to Errol was a good idea. You’re a bug person.”

Parvin shook their head. “Oh no, no. Luc is the bug person. I’m merely facilitating a young man’s learning.”

“Errol put that damn worm on display at the museum!”

“Correct!” Parvin held up a finger and grinned. “That is because the worm is a Mistrian national treasure!”

March pointed a trembling finger at the armor on the table. “Put the damn breast on.”

Fields of Mistria has gripped me in such a way that I am both drawing and writing and I need someone to stage an intervention (only no because I am writing and any words at this point are good words). Anyway, happy WIP Wednesday?

Caught between the two, March couldn’t decide whether to wait and see who it was (though he knew damned well who it was) or just stuff the package into the box and go. He turned to the mailbox and frowned.

...The package wouldn’t fit. He’d have to leave it by the door.

Where the cat was.

The cat that was watching him with those damned green eyes that seemed to be far more intelligent than any cat had any right to be.

“Stop lookin’ at me like that!” he hissed.

The cat tipped its head to the side and replied, “Mew?”

No mew should ever be able to sound innocent and confused, but this one not only somehow pulled it off but managed to add unspoken words to it. What’s your problem?

March wrinkled his nose. “Do you want a list?”

“Mew?”

He closed his eyes. “I’m not arguing with a cat.”

“Mew.”

“I am not!”

“Mew.”

“Oh shut up!”

And then Parvin arrived and March’s day went from bad to worse.

The cat even got the last word in. Its “Mew-oo-oo.” had a distinct sneer to it. The animal was laughing at him, he just knew it.

He will *say* no, but will go along with it because he cannot say no to his catte.

Text post is a quote of the Shinra Middle Manager saying "The Shinra Electric Company will be issuing a recall on the Pride month themed rainbow materia. We didn't know it would do that."

The quote is: "My husband turned into a behemoth (sad face text-emoji followed by a winky cat-face text-emoji).

Rev's answer to this is the aforementioned: "...No."

Rev is part voidsent. Torri's suggestion that their husband turn into a behemoth is not as far fetched as it might seem at first blush.

You know how cats immediately locate the person in the room who either hates cats or is deathly allergic? And then sits on their lap and purrs until either they become a cat person or anaphylactic shock sets in? My #FieldsofMistria farmer is that cat. And March? ...Thoughts and prayers, March.

A silly doodle comic...thing. You know Fields of Mistria is a good game because it's making me draw things. Badly. But I am still drawing. Anyway.

Panel 4: (10 minutes into FoM...) Me, the Fool meets the blacksmith bros and March is yelling at me. As he does. The handwritten dialogue reads as follows: "GO AWAY! My issues have subscriptions! I hate outsiders! Rwar! RWAR! RWAR!!" It's very messy and kinda gets lost behind him. Olirc is also there, looking embarrassed and going "Eh heh..." He doesn't have a sweatdrop but I should have drawn one. Me, the Fool, has one.

Panel 5: Me, the Fool, has turned around and started doing Something. It involves several symbols such as ! and # and a star and a spiral flying through the air, accompanied by the Wilhelm Scream. Olric is still embarrassed (I just copy-pasted him over and over cause...yeah). He is trying to convince Me, the Fool that, "He doesn't mean it. March is a good guy. Please don't judge him by his first impression... or his 29th... er. I promise he's a big softie really..."

Important note: Under every version of Olric is a small note that says "Olric has legs but I didn't feel like drawing them." Because I didn't.

Me, the Fool, also has no legs but I thought it was funnier if I just pointed it out on Olric.

FINALLY got around to drawing the WoL stickers for #GatewayFATE this year. I think I practiced art a bit more than I thought I did cause yeah. I will sticker-fy them later.

A chibi version of my WoL, Torri, with big hair and a big smile. They are doing the peace sign despite not really being peaceful when there are bad guys to axe. They are wearing a sleeveless blue crop top with short-shorts and leggings. They also have no miqot'e markings. Partly because said markings are Gendered™️but mostly because I couldn't get them to look good.

A chibi version of my partner's lalafell, Uni. She has big purple and blue hair and is wearing a long sleeved navy shirt with red accents. She is blowing you a kiss. You may perhaps want to dodge.

Seifer originally came from Eorzea. His parents are a Mhachi Black Mage and an Amdapori tailor. Yes they have names. No I will not tell you what they are (he is kinda-sorta named after them). They are both blond and blue eyed, though Seifer takes after mom more.

Anyway, he was tossed into the Orphanage during the 6th Umbral Calamity and thrown back to Eorzea 18 years (for him) later during the 7th Umbral Calamity.

Something something wibbly-wobbly, timey-wimey Time Does Not Flow The Same On All Shards stuff.

Anyway, mom and dad are very much Doomed Starcrossed Lovers. And his dad really is a total dork. That is why there is a small insert of a twitter post saying: "my fetish is saying some incredible cornball shit and watching a gal speedrun the five stages of grief as she realizes with horror that she still wants to fuck me."

"So...how did the Finding Sicard quest end for Torri?" TL;DR - they grew up together, raised as siblings, until Sicard got lost at sea on a ship Torri was supposed to board but missed. Torri thought he was dead until this moment.

Left: Torri in their Shadowbringers Warrior armor and big axe. Their hair is long and they are still 99% in masculine mode. They are making *AnGrY cAt NoIsEs*.

This ended up being way longer than intended but anyway, here is where Torri's Fantasia Carrots come from:

Fantasia in the Torriverse is a gift from Venat/the Loporrits and comes in the form of carrots (obvs!). Torrizem was constantly changing their presentation via creation magic so this was Venat's way of offering that same gift to Torri (after a long convo in Elipis, Venat Understands™️).

The carrots are instant and permanent for Torri, who uses them as often or as little as they like with some cavets: Their eyes are always the same two shades of green and their scars stay the same. Otherwise, they've been multiple shapes, sizes, genders, etc.

The carrots will work for anyone else, just like they do on Torri, but the effect only lasts a couple hours before reverting whoever it is back to their original shape.

Certain pirates may or may not have made use of this in the past.

There are no (currently!) known side effects.

CUL. My HC: He spent a huge part of his misspent youth getting detention and one of the detention duties was washing dishes in the cafeteria. One of the cooks decided to take him under their wing and now he's very, *very* good at what he does. But also a bit too Gordon Ramsey.

My NPC Seifer alt looking confused and mildly offended. There are reasons for this, but they are too numerous for this text box.
