Such a great idea!
Prompt with "Draw a black dog on a white horse". The picture is a rudimentary black animal on a white horse side on.

About 20 years ago I wrote a quick clock widget for our new BrightSign digital signage players. Mostly I worked on video and audio software, but having a clock was better than not having a clock. Most users moved on to HTML clocks, but everyone working on Match of the Day still watches it weekly!
A photo of a TV screen showing MOTD Behind the Scenes on iPlayer. There's a screen with a crappy looking digital clock mounted on top of a 2 by 2 grid of TVs showing football matches.

The tree outside my window has been making faces at me.
A tree where the boughs firm a face and there are some eyes and a glum mouth.

The tree outside my window is looking sad
A large ash tree, bare of leaves. The branches make the outline of a face along with two eyes and a glum mouth.

It's entrenched. Gangs are heavily involved in Cambridge real estate.

I've just spent a great couple of days at the OSM State of the Map Europe conference in sunny Dundee #sotmeu2025. It was my first SOTM and was so very, very good. Brilliantly well run with lots of fun extras which all amplified the feeling of community. So much generosity on display.
The image is a hand-drawn poster summarizing a "State of the Map Europe" 2025 event.

The poster is divided into several sections, each addressing a different talk. These sections are demarcated by hand-drawn lines and titles. The overall color scheme is dominated by blues, reds, and whites. The style of the poster is informal, with illustrations, handwritten text, and a scrapbook-like feel.

The main title, "State of the Map Europe," has next to it a picture of a penguin!

The atmosphere feels collaborative, energetic, and community-focused. The poster conveys a sense of excitement and enthusiasm for open mapping, data accessibility, and community engagement.

The top right corner indicates the date, "Friday 14th November 2025," and the illustrator, "Cara Rooney."

Scotland at its finest. I've seen more palm trees today than probably on any other holiday.

Presumably because Cardiff is a capital, and due to the labels being to the right of the settlement, Bristol seems very hard done by on Google maps.

Packing up a newspaper from 1983 which celebrates Aberdeen FC's amazing year. I couldn't help but post this and for the top disco lounge of the time.
An ad for Sir Laffalot's knight club in Aberdeen. Everything you would expect from the early eighties including the ditty "In days of new, when nights out are few, and money has deflated, Sir Laffalot's the place to go, to make you feel elated."

I had a couple of Soviet space posters...

I enjoyed doing this, it's amazing how it prompts memories. I really need to visit Northern Ireland though!

It was close by, but I'm 100 years too late
A poster for the Bennie Railplane from the 1920s. It shows what loss like a train carriage hanging from a metal gantry with a propeller on the front. The tag live is 'Swift, Safe, Sure'.

Shack at St. Luke's was a dream gig. Gerard Love was unparalleled support, and then Shack were spine tingling and bone shaking in equal measure, magic!

We saw an unusual rainbow today - looked more like daytime northern lights than a rainbow!
A view North from Lismore island. Over the sea is a very low rainbow that is mostly just a horizontal band of colour above the sea.

Watching Paul Simon on BBC2 and Toots Thielemans who's playing harmonica is the spitting image of Jim from Friday Night Dinner.

The answer is clearly no... I asked ChatGpt if rain on your wedding day is ironic:
ChatGPT response as an image: The idea of rain on your wedding day can feel ironic, especially because it’s often associated with bad luck or disruption of plans. However, according to Alanis Morissette’s song "Ironic," it’s actually an example of irony when something happens that’s the opposite of what you expect. In the case of rain on your wedding day, it’s ironic because people typically expect perfect weather for such an important day, yet nature does its own thing. So, it might not technically be *ironic* in the classical sense, but it can feel like it! What do you think—does it seem ironic to you?
