It's incredible that there is like no 6-7 inch device available at all or in a reasonable price range because they all have all these extras that I don't need. I get that this is about the clipping and hitting the top speed earlier on the straight. if we compare ANT 26 to 25 and PIA 25 (pole) ANT gains about 2/10 on PIA and 1/10 on himself. braking zone is excl. bc ANT 26 gains even more there. so this is faster on the straight.

interestingly ANT actually stays on the throttle longer than he or others did in 2025. and I get that this is probably about the clipping but like if you look at the speed trace you see that they just hit their top speed earlier than they used to. and idk why that is supposedly inherently bad.

I saw that Fred suggested that there may have been an issue with LECs hybrid deployment and I would say that it does kinda look like that to me. (I know nothing for the record) but HAM is consistently ~15kph faster on the entire back straight + the lack of deployment to the finish line.

Can I just say that so much of the shit about the racing was absolutely overstated. I understand that the drivers want to feel the cars go as fast as possible but the fans want to see overtakes and multi lap battles and if clipping on the straights gets us that then so be it.

I plotted PIA and VERs full race sim from yesterday (day 2) afternoon. the track temp is taken for VERs run but PIA was a few minutes later so I would say it still gives enough rough info. Only in and outlaps are removed for obvious plot reasons.

Did more thinking and it keeps getting more absurd. The change in procedure would be to give them more time revving the engine to get the turbo up to speed. But if the turbo isn't up to speed when they start they shouldn't stalk. They'd just be slower until it kicks in.
