Over 5 years after the release of Twilight Princess Google Translate, I have updated it 👀 Originally it wasn't intended for the GameCube version due to the extra text involved. People (incompletely) used it on the GameCube version anyway and, with the recent PC ports, this has now been remedied.

Finished my first year of Uni! Got marks of 85, 85, 77, 76, 75, 62 and two modules I am awaiting results for - well on track to get a First (70%+) overall in my first year which is the top grade. Now I have a month before I move into my summer accommodation. Don't like how quickly it's going 😭

Continuing to write my Twilight Princess fanfiction, jumping all over the place (these are disconnected) and mostly just doing the Postman segments. I was with my friends (who were writing their own things) at Creative Writing Society when I did this and I REALLY struggled to keep a straight face 😭

After retrieving the 3rd mirror shard, Midna felt somewhat exhausted, and she had no idea how she was going to find the final one in the heavens. At least, not before the familiar call of “HEEEEEEEEEEEEY!”. She had no idea who could possibly be sending her mail this time but, at the risk of her time being wasted by junk mail, she entertained the postman and accepted his letter. It was surprising, therefore, to see that the sender of the letter did not sign their name. In fact, it barely constituted a letter at all. The piece of scrap paper had a note written upon it. “Use the ancient machinery in the sanctuary basement”. Was this a hint? Did the postman write this out for her, and if he did, how in the heavens did he know about this? She recalled the sanctuary in the Kakariko Village where Link used to visit and, no other ideas in sight, headed in that direction.

Finally, she reached Zant’s - no, her - throne room. The lunatic was sitting there, seemingly waiting for her. He let out an ear-piercing screech in anger. “Zant”, she said. A few seconds of silence followed, before he presented her with a creepy grin. “I must say Midna, for such a hideous little imp, you have done well. Nobody would have anticipated that a being like you would make it out of those four dungeons alive. Impressive work. However, it ends now”. He pulled out a helmet, one that she instantly recognised as the one the Shadow Beasts wore. “Perhaps you recognise this helmet. When you wear it - which, you will - you will be transformed into one of my servants. And because of your ex-monarchy status, you will be more powerful than my other servants. You’ll be an Ultra Shadow Beast! And why would I need an Ultra Shadow Beast when I have already successfully invaded Hyrule? Well, I haven't thought that far ahead yet, I’ll figure out the details later. I mainly just wanted to get you out of my sight!”

She tried to strike him with her hair and snatch the helmet out of his hands, but he teleported away. “Foolish Midna, your games end here!” he yelled. However, she wasn’t going to give up here. He tried to strike her with the helmet, but she quickly dodged it, for her small form factor did have its benefits.

They were mid-battle when a familiar voice could be heard. “HEEEEEEEEEEEEY!”, the Postman yelled. Midna rolled her eyes. “I’m sorry, you’ve got to be kidding me! We are mid-battle! How did you even get in here?!” she started ranting. Zant had also paused his fighting. “Woah, woah, calm down, Midna. We’ll continue things in a minute. Talking from experience, it’d be easier to just let this guy deliver his mail and move on”. He ran over, past Midna, to Zant. “Greetings, Mr. Zant! I have come to deliver a letter. It is a letter from an unknown sender. Well, my business is concluded… onward to mail!” He began to run away, but, to Midna’s astonishment, Zant actu…

Exam results day at Uni, just found out I got 85% in my second-hardest module. I already knew I got 75% (my hardest module), 75% (my easiest module) and 62% in my other modules. 3/4 Firsts (one as high as 85%) in my first semester is not bad! :D

Spent some more time with my friends today and their interest in the creative writing society led to me reviving my old Twilight Princess fanfiction (left is 3+ years ago, right is today). Also seeing one of my friends independently on Friday, and next Saturday going clothes shopping with them 👀

The loud pattering of rain could be heard, echoing throughout the kingdom, which was eerily empty. The sky shone a golden twilight as mysterious black clouds covered the lands. The only sounds that could be heard were the ghostly footsteps of the honourable and dependable postman. To whom he was delivering mail was a mystery as large as Hyrule itself. Maybe it was better not to question it. A small, imp-like figure could be seen silently sulking across the vast fields, which were centred around a decaying castle.

“Zant,” she spoke. “You’ll pay for this. Mark my words.”

She travelled to a village which seemed devoid of life. In the corner of the village, next to an abandoned treehouse, stood a single, unmarked grave. The fate of the other villagers unclear, the imp sighed. “Link, I’m sorry for what happened to you. And your kingdom’s people. I don’t know how, but… I will avenge you. I promise.” She preferred not to grieve, but the stakes of this particular loss - Link, the Hero of Twilight, who was bestowed with the Triforce of Courage - was worth an acknowledgement, at least.

The figure dreaded to think what happened to her own people. She knew that she needed to
return to the twilight realm, but doing so was not an easy task. Not since Zant had shattered the mirror into 4 pieces. And she certainly wasn’t very able-bodied herself. She knew that, as legends foretold, the spirit of the hero would reincarnate, but… how? How could that spirit possibly reincarnate when, far and wide, there was no sign of Hylian life anywhere? It’s not like he could magically fall from the sky, and the Postman seemed an unlikely candidate.

“Zant left one of the mirror shards on the pedestal where the Mirror of Twilight sat. That leaves one in the snowy mountain heights, one in an ancient grove and one… in the heavens. Great. How am I supposed to find this stuff on my own? I didn’t even know this world had heavens!” she spat in anger.

This week I have done my two hardest exams (algorithms and maths). Feeling confident that I got a 2:1 (60%-69%) in algorithms, but it isn't marked yet. Maths auto-marked and gave me the result immediately. I got 75% (a First, the highest grade possible) in my hardest module and I'm so happy :DDDDDD

It was one of my Uni friends' birthday and I got to meet up with everyone for the first time since freshers to celebrate, and then I also got to hang out with him more the next day. I saw a hairdresser (long overdue) yesterday and it was the happiest I've ever been with my hair, I was shocked she was able to make it look so nice. Unfortunately it didn't hold in the humidity... which also happened last time I saw a hairdresser... and it definitely hasn't survived my sleep 😞
