I know there's purists out there but you could absolutely design & make a JRPG that lasts 3-6 hours. The essence of the genre isnt just about grinding away for 10s of hours & if that annoys you, maybe you should think about other people that would enjoy a shorter entry to match their time budget

This is a great example of why these AI slop decompiles of older games are shite. This one adds "ray tracing" to Rage racer and because all they know is buzz words and not what makes anything look good, we end up with this monstrosity, which they think looks good.

So, look - Sonic 1, mega drive was the first game I ever saw. I even asked what a video game was. But seeing Wipeout 2097 on Gamesmaster made me realize that games were a maturing medium that could have vision, style & substance. I'd liked electronica before that OST but that one opened the door
