On March 25, 1911, the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory fire in NYC became one of the deadliest industrial disasters in the U.S. after 146 garment workers, mostly young immigrant women, were killed. Public outrage galvanized the labor movement already in progress before the tragedy.🧵

NEWS STORY:  A construction worker was killed by electrical shock in North Lawndale Tuesday morning after the boom lift he was working on came into contact with a high-voltage power line. The 33-year-old was transported to Stroger Hospital and pronounced dead. ⬇️
