All members are invited to our Membership 101 meeting! RSVP at the first link on our linktree: linktr.ee/uicgeo
The Graduate Employees Organization presents: Membership 101. Arm yourself with the tools of union democracy! In-person session: 9/22, 12pm until 2pm, University Hall room 1430. Virtual session: 9/24, 6:30pm until 8:30pm. New and old members are encouraged to come to this core training. An organization is democratic only if its members know hos it works and how to change it. Lunch wkll be provided at the in-person session. If you've ever asked yourself: What is the organizational structure of GEO? How are our meetings run? How can I change the union? What is solidarity — theoretically and practically? What does it mean to be a good union member? Come to Membership 101!

Yesterday we delivered an Accreditation Complaint regarding UIC's handling of final grades. As our fight goes on, we see faculty pressured into crossing the picket line and accepting extra workload, while students report rampant cheating at exams. Another reminder that UIC works because we do!
Seven people at 230 South LaSalle, Chicago, holding a printed out complaint letter. They're wearing GEO gear and holding their fists up in solidarity.

Do you know your strike rights?
Don't get it twisted: know your strike rights!
RAs, TAs, and GAs with point 25 FTE to point 67 FTE are protected if they strike!
International workers have the right to go on strike!
Retaliation from your PI or Supervisor for striking is illegal!
Think your rights are being violated? Contact us at: geo@uicgeo.org
The text is printed out and put on a GEO table at the picket line.
