"Why choose Ecosia?
What we stand for
100% of profits for the planet
We use all our profits for climate action, with the majority going into tree-planting projects around the world.

Collective climate action
The Ecosia community is the planet's largest tree-planting movement, making a difference every day.

No greenwashing
We tell you transparently how much money we make each month, and how much we spend on tree planting and climate action.

Beyond neutral
Our solar panels produce enough energy to power your searches twice over, meaning more renewables (and fewer fossil fuels) in the energy grid."

This is an excellent article with a lot of useful information about how Infomaniak's sovereign cloud works: "With more than 15 multi-data center cloud infrastructures, #Infomaniak is one of the few cloud providers in #Europe to master its data centers […] [Original post on social.vivaldi.net]
The image is a pyramid diagram illustrating the layers of a managed service model provided by Infomaniak. The pyramid is divided into four horizontal sections, each representing a different service layer.

Data Centers (Bottom Layer):
This is the foundational layer of the pyramid.
It represents the physical infrastructure where data is stored and managed.

Cloud Infrastructure Software (Second Layer):
This layer is built on top of the data centers.
It includes the software necessary for managing cloud infrastructure.
The target audience for this layer is System Administrators.

PaaS (Platform as a Service) (Third Layer):
This layer is above the cloud infrastructure software.
It provides a platform allowing customers to develop, run, and manage applications without dealing with the underlying infrastructure.
The target audience for this layer is Developers.

SaaS (Software as a Service) (Top Layer):
This is the topmost layer of the pyramid.
It represents software applications delivered over the internet.
The target audience for this layer is End Users.

The entire pyramid is labeled as "Managed from Start to Finish by Infomaniak," indicating that Infomaniak manages all these layers comprehensively. The left side of the pyramid is labeled "IaaS" (Infrastructure as a Service), which encompasses the Data Centers and Cloud Infrastructure Software layers.

Graphic showing replacement to BigTech and US products.

Introdutory text: People increasingly want their voices heard and are taking action by choosing the comparies they support. These can be due to privacy concerns, environmental reasons, boycotting US companies, or other causes. Underpinning all of it is the idea that too much power is given to the few, and it is time to empower the many. Change takes time, so this is broken into weekly challenges to make that switch one product at a time.
The Options: The companies below have proven to be reputable and worthy of supporting. Specific causes are shown as tags: Environmental (sustainability declarations), Profit Share (portion of their revenue goes to charities or other businesses) or Privacy (strict policies around data usage)

The list is extensive and includes numerous recommendations for replacement applications, which are organized into different frames and labeled accordingly.

Ohh a mascot for the European Union! 😀 #europe #mascot
MEET EUROPA, The official mascot of the EU at Expo 2025 Osaka.
This image features a colorful cartoon-style mascot. The mascot is playful and cheerful, with big eyes and a happy expression. It has some elements that make it feel very “European” — like stars (similar to the EU flag stars) and a blue/yellow color scheme.Three versions of the mascot:
Each version shows the same girl in different positions, dressed in clothes based on the colours of the European Union (EU) flag - blue and yellow. The image of a man holding two mascots with the flag of Japan and the European Union on the back. One mascot is from Europe, a girl dressed in blue and yellow, and the other mascot is from Japan.
