Months of toxic smoke, rotting food, and pest infestations, while the responsible company got off with minimal fines. This bill gives cities real leverage to hold corporations accountable. Profitable companies shouldn’t depend on public programs to cover their workers. AB-177 ensures they pay their share. AB-177 (The Medi-Cal: Fair Share from Big Corporations Act) aims to hold large corporations accountable for the taxpayer costs of their employees relying on the state’s Medi-Cal.
