idk much about previous Naruto card games but this is a brand new one, presumably riding the popularity wave of the One Piece TCG. Though from a friend who got to see a demo of it at a recent con, this one plays more like Yugioh

:D I’m glad, thank you! I love birds and bird Eito so I was very happy to see this…

Meet the incredible Japanese transforming owl

Because of this, it’s often erroneously called a japanese species. The most famous viral video is of an individual named Popo-chan in the Kakegawa Flower and Bird Park youtu.be/TuG6cYeNXig

I mentioned this to friends but I’m fairly confident that Priroll owl Eito is based on the northern white-faced owl. It’s native to central Africa, not Japan, but it did go viral in Japan as the “transforming owl” for its amusing defense mechanisms of puffing up or turning really narrow and skinny.

tbh this is more interesting than the death/imprisonment/other punishment an antagonist like him would normally get in most stories. Largely because it’s so absurd.

It’s cool that his son and Naruto’s son can go to school together and have a homoromantic friendship. But they have to tell Orochimaru to attend parent-teacher conference in disguise because otherwise everyone will freak out, since not long ago he used to kidnap and experiment on children.

130

Semi-related, but we watched some Boruto clips and I can’t believe they operation paperclip’d Orochimaru. Straight up there’s a scene where Naruto tells him his analysis on Danzo’s “research” has been helpful to the village.

Naruto : A Tale of Queer Love in a Hyper-Masculine Society

Here is the gay Naruto video essay btw. I’m an hour in and it’s pretty interesting so far (though if you’re a fujoshi and have seen the series you’ll already be familiar with most of the stuff being said). The youtuber’s favoritism towards Sasuke is very funny and cute youtu.be/Yso05X06IJg

A bunch of it happens towards the end during its Peak Bullshit era, but if you’re curious for a good, short, self-contained story, you can check out Kakashi Gaiden (manga ch. 239-244, Shippuden ep. 119-120). It’s not very gory/explicit but it is quite sad.

It’s time for Trilobite Tuesday! For decades, the Lower Cambrian trilobite Bristolia insolens was recognized almost exclusively from the disarticulated exuviae, or cast-off exoskeletons, of its distinctively shaped head section.

It’s crazy to have made them each become president of their respective fucked up evil countries, but it’s in line with every other slap in the face that the series ended up at.

I can see this and, to be fair, it’s after the timeskip that the yaoi energy really intensifies imo, with Naruto’s undying will to chase Sasuke to the literal end of the world… Agreed re: Gaara! I liked them as a ship more than narusasu/sasunaru (mostly bc I liked Gaara way more than Sasuke 😅)
