Successful transition from 3000k (soft white) to 4300k (warm white) using 1/2 CTB Gel sheets. This is the first time I’ve done this & I’m pretty happy. Here’s the before (stock image) & after pictures. Science is great.

There are two new Eastern Black Swallowtails in the world today. 😊 Here’s one that stayed around a couple of minutes after release.

It’s amazing the Chrysalis turns the same color as the stick it’s on as it hardens. It was more green (like the caterpillar) than brown initially.

Even though this is nine hours after you might have made use of this advice- I find taking 100mg-200mg magnesium helps facilitate sleep nicely. I prefer the grape flavor.

It’s been just 3 days since I took the first picture. These Eastern Black Swallowtail caterpillars are gaining weight fast. @gregdoucette.bsky.social

Today I saw my dill plant has Eastern Black Swallowtail caterpillars and the Gladiolus I planted this spring has bloomed. It’s a great day.

Price aside (though $7 isn’t bad), would anyone eat any of these five gargantuan Hamburgers? If so, which one?

Over at the other place, they’ve forgotten, or are ignoring, the definition of a peaceful protest, which is exactly what this is. It’s also a (petty) crime, but that doesn’t make it less than peaceful. Am I correct? @gregdoucette.bsky.social

Well, if you’re beyond Flonase I imagine you’re also behind this or its equivalent, but as someone (& wife) in Kentucky, where the spring is as bad for allergies as anywhere, we’ve had good success with this combo of Pseudoephedrine & Cetirizine.

For anyone reading the news about Kentucky Derby winning jockey Junior Alvarado being fined for going over the allowed # of crop strikes in the stretch, the only issue should be the fine. The Jockey’s Guild agreed to the rule in 2021 before it was nationwide. HISA adopted it except for the fine.

Here are the 2-turn running lines for 6 @KentuckyDerby entrants. Reading right to left, ALL 6 won ONLY when leading after a half-mile (2nd point of call). With 4 of the 6 breaking from posts 5 & under, if even only three run as usual, the early pace will be hot. IMO none of these six can win.

There's one grant I hope they cancel - this yearly grant to U of L which is a waste of money & does NOT benefit Early Intervention in Kentucky. Instead, it pays U of L $700,000 per year with zero benefit & results waiting lists for children needing speech, OT and PT because of a provider shortage.
