After UA staff voted to unionize, the parasitic bosses reneged and nixed the promised 3% raise. What did the union do? Marshall all workers for a massive strike? Of course not. They can't. Labor law forbids it. Confirmation of what we've said: despite the best intentions, unions are straitjackets.

The bosses hate collective action. Much easier to crush us when we each stand alone. The same goes even when we unionize. UA workers have different unions for faculty, adjuncts, staff, trades, firefighters, and grad students. Easier for the bosses to deal with a different 20% each year!

Hot tip: Some adjunct faculty at the #UniversityOfAlaska #Fairbanks did not get paid until well into February. There is a grievance related to this. This follows the 2024 disaster in which huge numbers of University of #Alaska faculty missed their entire first paycheck.
